Evening in Seoul
“Do you know when love truly begins to bloom? It’s when you find yourself debating whether that one person is truly special, grasping for reasons to convince yourself otherwise.”
The FM radio continued to play softly in the background, but Jaehyun felt a knot tighten in his chest. He shouldn’t feel this way; after all, he wasn’t in love with anyone. So why was he tense? Perhaps it was just the sudden upheaval in his life. Transitioning from being undercover as Park Ally to suddenly returning to the reality he had left behind was weighing heavily on him. He needed to shake this off.
A fleeting image of Taehyung’s face during lunch flashed through his mind, but he quickly dismissed it. Focus, he reminded himself. There was too much at stake. He pressed down on the accelerator, determined to clear his thoughts.
Resturant
Jimin pushed the door open and scanned the area for a familiar face. There, sitting at a corner table, was Suga, looking more pensive than usual.
“Hey,” Suga greeted as Jimin slid into the seat across from him.
Jimin crossed his arms, his expression guarded. “Say what you need to say. My friend is waiting for me. I need to leave soon.”
Suga sighed, his tone shifting to something more serious. “I’m not going to sugarcoat things anymore. I want us back together.”
Jimin raised an eyebrow, skepticism dripping from his voice. “Simple answer: not going to happen.”
“Jimin, why are you being so stubborn?” Suga pressed.
A sarcastic laugh escaped Jimin. “You think I’m the stubborn one? You know why we broke up. Or should I say, why you dumped me?”
Suga fell silent, his gaze faltering.
Jimin leaned in, the hurt evident in his eyes. “No answer? Let me remind you. Your father, Mr. Jeonsshi, had a chokehold on both of his sons. You’ll never admit it, but you did exactly as he commanded. When he found out about us, he told you to cut me off, and you did it without hesitation.”
Suga’s eyes glistened with unshed tears. “Jimin, I didn’t have a choice back then.”
“Wait, Suga. Let me finish the story. After you dumped me, I spiraled into depression. My family had to pull strings to bring me back to normal. I hated leaving, but you made me move to Australia. Now I’m fine, and you want to break me again? Is that what you want? Is this the stubbornness you were talking about?”
“I know I was wrong,” Suga said, his voice shaky. “But please, just give me another chance. I won’t let my dad dictate my relationship anymore. Look at Jungkook and Taehyung—they’re finally together after everything.”
Jimin scoffed, shaking his head. “Seriously, Suga? I don’t care about your father’s change of heart or yours. You broke my trust once, and I’m done. As for Jungkook and Taehyung, they didn’t just fall into ‘drunk love.’ They worked their asses off to keep their relationship alive. Don’t compare us to them. We don’t have a future.”
Jimin stood up, ready to leave. As he turned to walk away, he glanced back at Suga. “Stop trying, Suga. Jackson almost knows about us. He’s just holding back for now.”
With that, Jimin left, leaving Suga alone at the table, watching his back fade into the bustling café, his heart heavy with regret.
-----
After Jimin leaves the restaurant, tears begin to blur his vision. He fights back the urge to cry, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand as he walks down the bustling street. Each step feels heavier, filled with the weight of heartbreak and unresolved feelings. He remembers the moments he shared with Suga, the laughter, the warmth, and the way they could talk about anything.
As he rounds a corner, Taehyung, who had witnessed all the drama, slips into the restaurant, sensing the tension from the moment he stepped inside. He’s already suspicious of something happening between Jackson and Suga, given the strange atmosphere and Suga’s distressed expression.
“Hey, Hyung,” Taehyung smirks, taking a seat across from him. “So, this was all that happened in the background?”
Suga looks up, surprised at first but quickly regains his composure. “It was all my fault. There’s no way now. You know what? We were so happy… until Dad… I never expected…”
Taehyung waves his hand dismissively, ordering a mountain of food and other treats without bothering to listen to Suga’s woes.
“Can you please stop your boring love story? It’s the same plot as every kdrama,” he says, stuffing his mouth full of Sushi.
Suga scoffs, unable to hide his amusement. He’s still getting used to this bratty side of Taehyung, especially now that their familial ties have been revealed. It’s strange how things have shifted; Jungkook is the sweet little brother who’s always there, while Taehyung’s antics often make his head hurt. No wonder Jackson is acting like he’s on his period—dealing with Taehyung is a full-time job.
“Listen, Hyung, You need to go and confess your past with Jimin to Jackson. Just lay it all out there, and then be prepared to accept whatever he gives you in return.”
He smirks, clearly enjoying the idea.
“But if Jackson accepts your apology, then that means you’ll have the chance to get close to Jimin again. You just need to be honest with him, And as for Jimin… His heart is still with you, i know it" He smiles.
Before Suga can respond, Taehyung adds with a cheeky grin, “And pay the bill, because I don’t have any money.” With that, he stands up and walks out of the café, leaving Suga chuckling at his brother's antics.
Suga shakes his head, feeling a mix of frustration and gratitude. Having a bratty brother isn’t so bad after all. He leans back in his chair, contemplating Taehyung's words as he decides to take action, even if it means facing his father again.
