Secrets Revealed

The gang was almost there at Mauville City. But there was something that Koneko wanted to know.

Koneko: Izuku?

Izuku: Y-Yeah?

Koneko: I want to know more about your quirk.

Izuku froze up.

Izuku: U-Um... it's called Superpower. I'm able to stockpile strength and-

Koneko: I can tell you're lying.

Izuku and Ricky: 'Crap.'

Ash: I want to know as well. It seems awesome. Why won't you tell us?

Izuku: ...because I have to keep it secret.

Koneko: ...Is it really that important?

Izuku: It's a secret that I need to protect with my life.

Everyone remained silent.

Koneko: ...How about this. You tell me this secret of yours... and I'll reveal my biggest secret.

Izuku: What?

Koneko: I really want to know all about this power of yours.

Ash: C'mon Izuku. We want to know.

Izuku: ...

Ricky: Seigi?

Izuku: Do you two promise not to tell anyone?

Koneko: I've hidden a secret of mine for years. I can keep it a secret.

Ash: I've kept secrets before. Don't worry.

Pikachu: I've kept my unique powers a secret from Ash for 5 years now. You have nothing to worry about.

Izuku sighed.

Izuku: ...Alright. But we better sit down. It's a long story.

Ash, Koneko, and Pikachu nodded.

Eri: Papa, are you sure about this?

Izuku: ...I trust them. Besides, I already told my class and my mom as well.

Eri: Ok, papa.

Sunshine: What about the rest of us?

Izuku: I'm sorry. But I don't think what I'm about to tell you is suitable for a kid your age.

Sunshine: Aye!

And so, Ash, Izuku, Pikachu, Ricky, and Koneko went to a private spot while Eri played some games with the others. They stopped and sat down beside some trees.

Izuku: Alright. As you already know, 80% of the people in my world have superpowers. But the thing is, I didn't get my quirk until I was 15 whilst everyone else got them at the age of 4.

Koneko: You mentioned that. You said you were a late bloomer.

Izuku: Yeah. About that. I lied. I was given my quirk by someone else.

Koneko: Whoa. So quirks are able to be transferred?

Izuku: In most circumstances, no. But there are a few out there. A long time ago, there was a very powerful quirk. All For One. It allows the user to steal quirks from others. The user could then keep the quirks for themselves, or give them to someone else.

Ash: Say what?! That sounds dangerous.

Izuku: This quirk is one of the oldest quirks out there. It was back when quirks just started to show up. Before our society could deal with the newly powered people. Back then, no one could tell what was normal and what wasn't. During that chaotic period of change, there was only one person who managed to bring people together.
