Gunfire erupted, the sound deafening in the cramped room as Emilia dropped to the ground, adrenaline flooding her veins. The wild-eyed man was already scrambling for the back exit, shouting incoherently as he stumbled past them.

"Get to the door!" Adrian shouted, his voice barely audible over the chaos. He stood his ground, using the chair as a makeshift shield against the barrage of bullets flying through the air.

Emilia didn't need to be told twice. She grabbed Lucy and Jason's hands, pulling them toward the rear exit. Panic surged within her as she felt the heat of the gunfire, the realization that they were well and truly trapped settling like a stone in her stomach.

The man who had warned them was gone, disappearing through a door at the back of the room, leaving them with nothing but their fear and desperation. Emilia turned to Adrian just as he ducked, narrowly avoiding another round of shots. "We have to get out of here!" she screamed.

"Cover me!" Adrian shouted back, his voice filled with urgency. He hurled the chair toward their attackers, buying them a precious moment as it clattered to the ground, distracting the men just long enough for them to make a break for it.

Adrian rushed toward them, eyes wide with determination. "Go! I'll hold them off!"

"No! We can't leave you!" Emilia protested, fear gripping her heart as she saw the resolve in his expression.

"There's no time! Just go!" Adrian urged, pushing them toward the exit.

Jason grabbed Emilia's arm, dragging her toward the door. "We can't stay here! We have to run!"

With one last glance at Adrian, whose expression was set in fierce determination, Emilia tore herself away, her heart breaking at the thought of leaving him behind. They bolted through the door, the darkness of the hallway swallowing them whole.

"Where do we go?" Lucy panted, glancing back toward the chaos they had just escaped.

"Just keep moving!" Jason urged, pulling them along as they sprinted down the dim corridor. The sounds of the gunfire echoed behind them, growing fainter as they put distance between themselves and the chaos.

They reached another door at the end of the hallway, pushing it open to find themselves outside in a small courtyard surrounded by high walls. The moonlight illuminated the area, revealing a small garden overrun with weeds and a few crumbling benches.

"There's nowhere to hide!" Emilia gasped, her lungs burning as they stopped to catch their breath.

"We need to find a way out of here!" Jason scanned the area, his eyes darting as he looked for an escape route. "That wall is too high to climb, but... over there!"

He pointed to a set of double doors on the opposite side of the courtyard. They were partially ajar, a flickering light spilling from within. Without hesitating, they raced toward it, pushing through the doors and stumbling into another corridor.

"Keep moving!" Emilia urged, her heart pounding with fear and adrenaline.

They navigated the dimly lit hall, the walls lined with old photographs and peeling paint, giving the building an unsettling atmosphere. The sense of dread hung thick in the air as they rushed forward, desperate to escape whatever lay behind them.

Suddenly, a loud crash echoed behind them, and Emilia felt a jolt of panic shoot through her. "They're coming!" she shouted, glancing back as Jason pushed open another door.

Inside, they found themselves in a large room filled with old equipment—computers, files, and boxes scattered everywhere. The room looked like it hadn't been touched in years, and the stale air hung heavy with dust.
