"Best behavior, remember?"
Gojo slides Yuji's toast onto a plate and hands it to him, taking a seat next to him. But before he could say another word, they both jump at the sound of the toilet seat slamming shut.
"Is that—" Yuji glares down at Gojo's finger as he presses it against his lips. Loud footsteps approach the kitchen and Natsuki storms in, her face desperate and angry as she grabs her head. "Gojo! Please! I've written you a note and tried to stay calm but I can't cope with the toilet seat being up every morning! Please just close it!"
Her eyes land on Yuji and her whole body droops, her lips pressing into a small, embarrassed line. "Sorry, kid." She rubs her eyes groggily and avoids Gojo's eyes as he stands up from the sofa and approaches her.
"Sorry, Natsuki, I'll work on it." He shoves his hands into the pockets of his trousers and leans against the kitchen counter beside the toaster as it pops out two slices of toast. He points to it. "Here, I'll make you this as an apology." He grins, already beginning to spread butter onto it as she smiles.
"That'd be nice, thank you, Satoru." She leans her head against the kitchen counter, glancing over at the pink-haired boy on the sofa.
As her eyes lock onto his, he looks down guiltily at his lap. Weird.
His head is turned to her now, but she couldn't help but notice the small scars on his cheeks, just below his eyes. It looks weirdly familiar, like she'd seen it in a book, in a dream, or something...
Wait, what? It looks so familiar.
She closes her eyes and envisions his face in her mind. The scarring... it looks like the markings of something. Almost like the markings of—
"Here." Gojo places the plate in front of her, the toast cut into quarters, just like she likes it. She finds that this way it's easier to eat.
She takes the plate and smiles at him, straightening up slightly. "Thank you, Satoru. Now just remember not to leave it up, okay?" she says, jokingly scolding him. A grin spreads across his face, and she spots his eyes squinting happily behind his glasses in a familiar way.
"Yes, ma'am!" He salutes her and watches as she chuckles and walks back to her room.
She could swear someone else has done that to her before.
He could swear he saw a tint of recognition in her eyes.
Both are as right as they are equally confused.
After finishing her toast, she takes the plate back into the kitchen, putting it in the dishwasher as she eyes both Gojo and, more so, the pink-haired boy beside him. What on earth is it about him? Just his existence sends a shiver down her spine. Her eyes grow suspicious as she watches him interact so casually with Gojo. What are they, brothers?
No, surely not. Just look how different they are.
Gojo towers over Yuji as they both stand up, walking over to Natsuki in the kitchen. She opens the fridge and grabs a slice of the pizza she had bought late last night and nibbles on it, observing the pair as they joke around, making even more toast.
What, is that all they eat?
Gojo's eyes are blue. So blue that they are barely even tinted by his sunglasses, whereas the other guy has much wider, dark brown eyes. Oh, and not to mention those weird-ass scars that Gojo definitely doesn't have.
"You alright?" the boy asks her, his pink hair remaining spiked up as he tilts his head, confused as to why she's been chewing the same slice of pizza and staring at them for the last few minutes.
"Mhm." She nods, eyeing him suspiciously as she turns away from him.
