Her feet tread against the dry floor much more quietly than yesterday.
Due to the complete rush she was in yesterday, she had almost run late to her interview where they instantly accepted her despite her arriving right as someone came out to collect her for said interview. Thank God for her charming smile and slightly kind eyes.
She runs her hands over her apron as she enters the café, smiling at the customers and walking over to the back room where she finds the girl who had helped her get used to the coffee machines yesterday.
Natsuki opens up her locker and tosses her bag in there and smiles up at the photo of Komiki on the inside of the locker door. She pulls on a brown bandana over her hair and turns to the other girl as she slams her locker, "Hey, have you just got on or are you leaving now?"
The girl sighs, "I just got in, sadly. But it looks like we'll be working the same shift, hey, newbie?" She pats Natsuki's shoulder with a smile and wink. "Hey, I never caught your name yesterday, what is it?" In reality, she did know Natsuki's name; she just wanted to hear it again.
"Oh!" Natsuki gives her a small smile as she nods, "I'm Natsuki Hirai, sorry I didn't catch your name either."
The girl's eyes widen, "Ohhh, Natsuki! That's such a cute name. You're lucky; I'm just called Kokomi. Basic name, I know, but at least it's easy to remember. I suppose that's why my parents chose it."
Natsuki can't help but cringe at the awfully familiar name, "Kokomi? That's not basic, it's a beautiful name." Her eyes meet the girl's deep brown eyes as they both smile, "You're very beautiful, it suits you well."
Kokomi's eyes light up as her mouth opens into a wide smile, "Who would've guessed you're such a sweet girl, Natsuki!" She holds the door open for her as they step into the cozy space behind the till, "I think we'll get along quite well!"
They both sigh after their happy moment at the sight of an already long queue on the other side of the till, the woman at the front already shouting her order to Natsuki, who rushes over to her, suppressing a sigh.
After their five hours, Natsuki and Kokomi sigh and step into the back room as the other pair of baristas take their place.
Kokomi lets her head crash into her locker as she feigns sobs, "I know we're meant to put customers first or whatever, but I swear to God that one woman was pissing me OFF!" She stands up and faces Natsuki, who looks equally as exhausted as she pulls off her bandana and apron and swaps them out for her bag, "Tell me about it! I'm sorry that I couldn't magic a nutmeg milk syrup out of thin air, Karen!" She says sarcastically, holding her hands up in defense.
"I know, right!" Kokomi giggles as they close their lockers and make their way out of the café, "What even is a nutmeg milk syrup anyways? I've worked here for months and I have NEVER heard of that. Milk and syrup doesn't even make sense as a thing together anyways. Like, what?!" She giggles, clutching her stomach.
"Exactly!" The pair step outside and bask in the sun, with Kokomi even spinning around with her arms held out wide, "Sun sweet sun, oh how I've missed you so!" The way she giggles so carelessly can't help but remind Natsuki of Komiki. Her smile, her laugh, her name... it's all so similar.
God, no! Snap out of it, Natsuki! They're two very different people! Kokomi is here right now, focus on her!
"Hey, I'm going this way," she points behind her, "which way are you going?".
Kokomi sighs heavily with a frown, "Oh bummer! I'm going the complete opposite way!" She pouts and crosses her arms before lighting up again, "It's okay though, we'll see each other soon!"
"Yeah, we will. Of course we will." She smiles softly, glancing at the direction Kokomi is pointing in. "Alright then, Natsuki! I'll see you around, yeah?"
"Yeah! Bye, Kokomi, see you!" She waves at the girl as they walk in opposite directions, both tired and slow.
Back to the apartment. God knows what Gojo's doing. He wasn't there when she had gotten home yesterday, and he hadn't been there when she woke up this morning, so she hadn't even managed to ask him about it. Not that she would, no getting attached to people in Tokyo again, remember?
Shit. She could say the same thing about Kokomi, but she had spent all of her free time talking to the girl. She's just a colleague, though, so she's less likely to get attached since they only see each other at work, unlike Gojo who she has to *live* with.
It feels that even if she wanted to become friends with him, she wouldn't be able to as it seems their schedules clash so much. She's barely seen the man in the four days she's lived with him. Four days?! God, that's already gone so fast.
She rushes up the stairs to her apartment and slips her shoes off instantly when she gets in. Gojo's shoes are noticeably not there, because he's not there again, she can just crash straight onto the sofa, letting her sore feet rest.
It's like he's never in his own home. Oh well.
She stretches on the sofa and yawns widely.
Thank God he isn't so she can just relax without the fear of being seen.
