Steve, Tony and Y/N sat around a table. All were silent. Fury was looking through a deck of bloodstained trading cards. Vintage, Captain America trading cards.
"These were in Phil Coulson's jacket. Guess he never did get you to sign them." Fury said, tossing the cards on the table. Steve picked one up looking it over.
"We're dead in the air up here. Out communications, the location of the cube, Banner, Thor... I got nothing for you. Lost my one good eye. Maybe I had that coming." He lamented. He then went on to mention the phase 2 weapons prototypes that Y/N hadn't been around to know about and how Fury had never wanted that.
"There was an idea. A few of you are aware of this... Called the Avengers Initiative. The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people, to see if they could become something more. To see if they could work together when we needed them to, to fight the battles that we never could. Phil Coulson died still believing in that idea." Y/N winced upon hearing the name.
"In heroes," the phrase triggered Tony who got up and walked away.
"Well, it's an old fashioned notion."
Steve also got up and left the room, following after Tony. Y/N stayed seated, looking at the cards scattered on the table. He kept thinking back to that moment when Phil was stabbed through the heart, he kept thinking back to Roxy. First he'd lost her, and then he'd lost Phil permanently. Both gone in one day. Fury took a seat next to the teenager, the two sat in silence for a short time.
"Sir, I..." He trailed off not knowing what to say. This loss was devastating to him and he had no idea how to deal with it or what to do. The older man put a hand on his shoulder.
"It's alright L/N, I know. I'll miss him too." Fury fished something else out of his pocket. A piece of paper.
"Y/N this is Coulson's will. He thought of you as a son," Fury explained causing Y/N to look up, "At first you were just a kid who needed looking out for but I'll tell you something. He was fond of you kid." Y/N looked down again.
"He left it to you. His car Lola, his savings, everything. He named you his as his sole inheritor." Y/N was surprised, knowing Coulson really thought of him as a son. The boy wiped a tear from his face.
"You meant a lot to him L/N. I'm sure if he was still with us, he'd tell you to stop moping, the job isn't over yet." Y/N smiled almost hearing it exactly as described in his head.
"Your right." Suddenly Cap entered the room.
"Y/N, we need you with us." He said exiting the room to get suited up. Y/N stood up, a sparkle of blue in his eyes as he smashed his fists together.
"Thanks for the talk Director. I'm heading out then, I think it's about time we live up to the Avenger name." Y/N headed to his locker, leaving the will inside and suiting up. However his helmet had been destroyed in his fight with the Hulk earlier, so he'd have to do without.
Ready to go, he made his way to the hangar he had partially destroyed earlier with Thor's help.
"Clint." Y/N stated, boarding the Quinjet that Nat, Steve and Barton himself were already on.
"Hey kid. I heard what happened. Sorry." Clint told him, guilt riddling him.
"It's fine man, none of it was your fault. Just let me have first crack at the God." Clint smiled back at the teenager.
"Deal." After the quick chat between the agents, the Avengers took off on their way to Stark Tower for their final confrontation with the God of trickery.

"Stark we're on your three, headed Northeast."
"What? Did you stop for drive-through? Swing up park. I'm gonna lay 'em out for you."
