An hour later, Amelia found herself standing in front of the Brooks Enterprises board. The atmosphere was tense, the faces of the board members grim as they reviewed the latest updates on the breach. She knew they were looking to her for answers, for reassurance that she could still steer the ship through these stormy waters.

She cleared her throat, her voice steady as she addressed them. "This breach is a serious issue, but it is not insurmountable. We have a plan in place to mitigate the damage and ensure our investors that Brooks Enterprises remains strong. We will control the narrative, and we will continue with the merger."

The boardroom erupted in whispers, shocked voices rising as they read the same headline. Amelia's grip on the tablet tightened as panic threatened to overwhelm her. She had always been in control, always known how to handle every crisis—but this... this was beyond her.

Her eyes flicked back to the tablet, the damning words blurring as she fought to stay composed. The headline wasn't just a blow to her business—it was a direct hit on her entire life. And in that moment, she realized the true cost of being with Luca.

Her world was no longer her own...........................
