I watched her leave the building, her steps slow and uncertain, the black envelope clutched tightly in her hand.

I knew she was scared—confused even—but I could see the spark of curiosity in her eyes.

She wouldn't be able to resist.

Mariana was already mine, even if she didn't realize it yet.
