He gestured to the seat beside him, and I hesitated for a moment before sitting down.

The view from the rooftop was stunning—the entire city spread out before us, twinkling lights and towering buildings.

It should have been peaceful, but being next to him made everything feel tense, electric.

"You're not afraid of me anymore," Amir said, his eyes watching me closely.

I glanced at him, feeling my heart pound.

"I never said I wasn't afraid."

He smiled at that, leaning closer.

"But you're here. That means something."

I swallowed hard, my hands gripping the edge of the table.

"What do you want from me, Amir? Why are you doing this?"

He didn't answer right away.
