The morning air in the Airbnb was full of lazy energy. Everyone had stayed up way too late the night before, and it showed. I stretched out on the couch, half-watching as Leo, Peentar, and Jaron bickered over what to do today. Spoke was next to me, his leg casually resting against mine. Nothing intentional, but every time we moved, we bumped into each other. At this point, it felt like an unspoken thing.
"So, what's the plan, people?" Jaron asked, already looking ready for action, despite the fact that most of us were still recovering from last night's jokes.
"We could just... chill?" Peentar suggested, clearly not in any rush to do anything strenuous.
"Chilling sounds good," I muttered, glancing over at Spoke, who was nodding in agreement.
"Are you guys ever gonna stop pretending you're not glued at the hip?" Bacon chimed in, throwing a playful look our way from across the room.
I could feel Spoke glance at me, but I refused to look at him, instead opting to play it cool. "We're not glued at the hip," I protested with a light laugh.
Bacon grinned. "Right. That's why every time I turn around, you two are always next to each other."
"Maybe we just have similar tastes," Spoke said, the faintest smirk on his face.
Before I could respond, Ro entered the room, arms full of snacks. "So, what's the real plan today? Cause I'm down for whatever, as long as there's food involved."
Peentar snorted, "Food's always involved, man."
As they continued bantering, Spoke leaned in slightly and whispered, "Are we just going to let them keep teasing us, or are we giving them something to talk about?"
I rolled my eyes, trying to act casual despite the little flutter in my chest. "Oh, so you want them to keep shipping us?"
"Maybe I don't mind it," he said, his voice low enough that only I could hear.
I looked away, biting back a smile. The teasing between us had only grown stronger, and at this point, it was hard to tell where the jokes stopped and reality began.
After lazing around for most of the day, we finally managed to get outside. The sun was starting to set, casting a warm golden light over everything as we made our way to a small park near the Airbnb. The volleyball court there caught my attention, but today wasn't about playing—just relaxing.
We all found spots on the grass, talking and laughing as usual. But of course, it didn't take long for the conversation to circle back to me and Spoke.
"So, Avs," Leo began, leaning back on his hands with a sly grin, "when are you and Spoke just gonna make it official?"
The others quickly joined in, eyes lighting up at the thought of more teasing material.
I groaned. "Not this again."
Jaron jumped in, "C'mon, we've all been wondering! You're always together, and Chat's already shipped you like a hundred times."
"We're just—" I started, but Peentar cut me off.
"In a situationship," he finished for me, smirking. "Classic."
Spoke was laughing beside me, clearly not bothered by the questioning. "Situationship, huh?" he echoed, glancing at me with a mischievous grin. "I guess that's one way to put it."
I nudged him with my shoulder. "Don't encourage them."
"But what if it's true?" Bacon added with a laugh. "Like, let's be real. You two practically are dating."
I opened my mouth to deny it, but paused. I didn't know how to explain whatever this thing was between me and Spoke. We weren't officially together, but we also weren't just friends either. And with the way we'd been acting around each other lately... maybe they had a point.
"I mean... we're not officially dating," I admitted, keeping my voice casual.
"Yet," Leo quickly added, winking at Spoke.
Spoke just chuckled, leaning back on the grass. "I guess you guys will just have to keep wondering."
That, of course, didn't stop the teasing. They spent the rest of the afternoon taking turns asking us ridiculous questions, like who would ask the other out first, or what our 'couple name' should be. I was used to the jokes by now, but I couldn't help noticing the way Spoke seemed a little more comfortable with them today. Like he was just waiting for the right moment to say something more.

The next chapter is longer I promise!!
