As the sun began to set over Tokyo, casting long shadows across the streets, the realization hit all of us—the trip was coming to an end. We had spent days exploring the city, bonding, and creating memories that would last a lifetime. But now, the weight of our departure was settling in.

We sat together, the entire Life Steal gang, on a grassy patch near the riverbank, overlooking the skyline. The golden hues of the sunset reflected off the glass buildings, making the city glow one last time. I could feel the bittersweet emotions washing over me as we all fell into a comfortable silence, absorbing the last moments of our trip.

"I can't believe we're leaving tomorrow," Bacon said, breaking the silence, his voice soft. He leaned back, resting his arms behind his head. "Feels like we just got here."

"Yeah," Rek agreed, his eyes fixed on the horizon. "I'm gonna miss this place. The food, the vibes... and, of course, hanging out with all of you."

I glanced around the group, feeling the warmth of their presence. Spoke was next to me, as always, his hand resting casually on my knee, a gesture that had become natural between us. Every little touch had started to feel like a reassurance, an unspoken promise.

Jumper sighed dramatically, breaking the moment. "Man, I don't wanna get all sappy, but this has been one of the best trips of my life."

There were nods of agreement, and even Squiddo who I haven't really talked much on this trip, chimed in. "I didn't think I'd enjoy this as much as I did." His tone was genuine, and that small admission made us all smile.

As the evening wore on, the conversation shifted from our favorite moments of the trip to the things we'd miss most. The laughter grew louder as we recounted inside jokes, awkward situations, and all the ridiculous things we'd done.

"Remember when Rek almost knocked over that giant display at the electronics store?" Spoke chuckled, nudging him.

"Hey, that wasn't my fault!" Rek defended himself, but we all knew it was. We couldn't stop laughing.

And then there was a lull in the conversation. The kind of quiet that signaled something deeper was about to be said. Bacon, who was usually the first to crack a joke, shifted in his spot and cleared his throat.

"So... what now? What's next for all of us?"

The question hung in the air, and I felt a strange sense of anticipation. We were all going back to our lives, our routines, but something about this trip had changed us, hadn't it?

"We'll keep in touch," I said, though the words felt like a promise I desperately wanted to keep. I couldn't imagine not talking to these guys every day, but I also knew how life had a way of pulling people in different directions.

Jumper, always the optimist, grinned. "We'll have to plan another trip, maybe somewhere even crazier. Like, who's up for skydiving in New Zealand?"

"Twitch con is coming up, we'll just hang out there" i said " This time Zam, Mapicc and everyone who couldn't make it can go" i finished.

Everyone groaned, but there was a hint of excitement in the air.

"I mean it," Bacon said, a bit more serious now. "This can't be the last time we all hang out like this."

"It won't be," Spoke reassured him, his voice steady. I felt his hand tighten slightly on my knee, and I turned to meet his eyes. The unspoken connection between us had deepened over the past few days, and though we hadn't officially labeled whatever it was between us, it felt real. Solid. I knew that leaving Japan wouldn't change that.

As the sky darkened, the city lights began to twinkle in the distance, illuminating the streets we had come to know so well. It was a picture-perfect moment, one that would stick with me long after we were gone.

Jumper stood up suddenly, stretching. "Alright, enough with the deep stuff. Who's up for one last late-night adventure?"

Everyone perked up at that, the solemn mood lifting as we collectively decided to make the most of our final hours in Tokyo.

Later that night, after wandering the city one last time, we found ourselves back at the Airbnb, packing up and preparing for the morning flights. There was an unspoken understanding that we were all avoiding saying goodbye, clinging to every moment we had left.

I zipped up my suitcase, glancing over at Spoke who was leaning against the doorframe, watching me with a soft smile. "You ready?" he asked.

"Almost," I replied, though I wasn't sure if I meant physically or emotionally. Was I ready to leave? To go back to normal life?

As I closed the suitcase, I felt a weight in my chest. I stood up, walking over to him, and before I could overthink it, I wrapped my arms around him in a tight hug. He hesitated for a split second, then pulled me closer, resting his chin on my head.

"This doesn't change anything," he murmured, his voice low.

I pulled back slightly to look up at him. "I know," I whispered. "But it's still hard."

He smiled, his eyes full of warmth. "Worth the risk though, right?"

I nodded, feeling a lump form in my throat. "Yeah, worth the risk."

The next morning, the goodbyes were even harder than I had imagined. We stood outside the Airbnb, our bags piled up, waiting for the cabs to take us to the airport. The Life Steal gang was gathered in a loose circle again, this time quieter, the laughter replaced with the reality of parting ways.

One by one, we hugged each other tightly, promising to meet up again soon. Rek made us all laugh by pretending to cry dramatically, wiping fake tears with his sleeve. But the sadness was real, even if we tried to mask it.

Spoke was the last person I hugged, and it felt like time slowed down for a moment. His arms wrapped around me tightly, and I rested my head against his chest, listening to his heartbeat.

"See you soon?" I asked, my voice muffled.

"Definitely," he replied, his breath warm against my hair. "This is just the beginning, Avs."

And with that, we parted ways, the bittersweet end of an incredible trip. But as I watched the city fade into the distance, I knew one thing for certain—we would find our way back to each other, no matter where life took us.
