The morning after the stream, I woke up to the sound of my alarm, still buzzing with excitement from last night's session. The collaboration had gone better than I could have imagined, and I was excited to see what new opportunities would come next. But as I brushed my teeth and prepared for the day, reality started to set in. I had a big volleyball game coming up this weekend, and I needed to refocus.
I packed my backpack and grabbed a quick breakfast, but my thoughts kept drifting back to the game. As I walked to school, the crisp morning air helped clear my mind. I loved streaming and gaming, but volleyball had always been my other passion, and this weekend's game was crucial. Balancing both worlds wasn't easy, but I was determined to give each the attention they deserved.
Once at school, I went through my classes with a bit more focus. I made sure to take good notes and participate in discussions, knowing that I needed to keep my grades up if I wanted to keep playing. But during lunch, I couldn't resist checking my phone to see if there were any updates in the group chat.
Sure enough, the notifications were already piling up.
Ro:

Spoke:
Morning!I'm still laughing about how Avery just demolished me in that first round.
GGs Avs
Minuet:
Lol yeah, that was hilariousBtw, any thoughts on when we should do for the next recording?
Mapicc:
"I was thinking we could do it this weekend, like Saturday 8pm?As I read through the messages, I couldn't help but feel a little tug of guilt. I wanted to be as involved as possible in these plans, but the upcoming game was weighing on me. It wasn't just any game—it was the final match of the season, and college scouts were going to be there. This was my chance to make an impression, to possibly secure a spot on a college team.
Just as I was about to reply, another message from Spoke popped up.
Spoke:
By the way, Averysome of my viewers were asking about you last night
They really liked your vibe
Do you mind if I shout you out on my channel???
My heart skipped a beat. A shoutout from Spoke could bring a lot more viewers to my channel, but it also meant more time and commitment to streaming, just as my volleyball season was reaching its peak.
Avery:
Wow, really? That would be amazing, but are you sure?Spoke:
Of course! You're awesomeand I think more people need to see that
Ro:
100% agreeI smiled at their support, but before I could respond, the bell rang, signalling the end of lunch. I quickly typed out a response as I headed to my next class.
Avery:
Thanks, guys! I really appreciate it.And btw Mapicc
I can't on Saturday! I'll be a bit busy this weekend with a volleyball game
And it's exactly at 8pm
The rest of the school day flew by as I focused on getting through my classes. When the final bell rang, I headed straight to the gym for volleyball practice. As I walked in, I could feel the intensity in the air. The entire team knew how important this game was, and everyone was putting in their all.
Coach gathered us around and gave a quick pep talk before we started drills. "This is it, girls," she said, her voice steady but firm. "This game could determine our future. I know you've all been working hard, but now it's time to push even harder. Leave everything on the court."
I nodded along with my teammates, feeling a surge of determination. We spent the next couple of hours running drills, practicing our serves, and working on our formations. By the time practice ended, I was exhausted, but it was a good kind of exhaustion. The kind that comes from knowing you've given it your all.
When I got home, I greeted my mom and headed straight to my room. I had some homework to do, but my mind kept drifting back to the upcoming game. After finishing my assignments, I opened Discord to see if anyone was online, but I resisted the urge to get too involved. I knew I needed to rest up and focus on the game.
The next morning, I woke up early, feeling the familiar mix of nerves and excitement. My mom had made a hearty breakfast, knowing I needed the energy for the game later that evening. "Good luck today, honey," she said as I grabbed my gear. "I know you'll do great."
"Thanks, Mom," I replied, giving her a quick hug before heading out.
With the game at 8 p.m., I had the whole day to get ready, but that only made the anticipation build even more. I spent the morning going over my strategy, visualizing each play in my mind. I did a light workout to stay loose and focused, then took some time to relax and mentally prepare.
As the afternoon turned into evening, I started to feel the pressure. I couldn't shake the thought that scouts would be in the stands, watching my every move. But I knew I had to stay calm and focused if I wanted to perform my best.
Finally, it was time to head to the school gym. When I arrived, the stands were already filling up with students, teachers, and, of course, the scouts. The pressure was on, but I tried to stay calm, focusing on my breathing as I warmed up with the team. Coach gave us a final pep talk before we took the court.
The game was intense from the start. The opposing team was strong, but we matched them point for point. My heart raced as I dove for the ball, spiked it over the net, and cheered with my teammates. The crowd's energy was electric, fuelling us to keep pushing harder.
In the final set, we were tied, 2-2. The points were in our favour, 24-23, Just one more point. My entire body was tense with adrenaline as I prepared for the next serve. I did my jump float serve. The ball soared over the net, and everything seemed to move in slow motion.
The gym erupted in cheers as we won the match. My teammates and I hugged, cheering. We had done it. We had won.
After the game, I spotted the scouts talking with Coach. My heart skipped a beat as I saw them glance over at me and nod. It was a good sign, but I tried not to get my hopes up too much. All I could do now was wait.
Later that evening, I finally had a chance to relax. I opened Discord and, messaged my friends letting them know that I had won the game. I saw messages from the group congratulating me on the win, even though they hadn't seen the game.
As I lay in bed that night, I realized that I didn't have to choose between volleyball and streaming. Both were important parts of who I was, and I was determined to succeed in both. The weekend had been a whirlwind of emotions, but it had also shown me that I was capable of more than I'd ever imagined.
I drifted off to sleep with a smile on my face.
