I woke up at 6:30 am and got ready for school. I got dressed, did my skin care and my makeup. I got my Longchamp, verifying if I had everything I needed for todays school day. Once I realized my economics book was missing, I remembered I left it at school. I packed my volleyball bag since today I had practice till 9pm and went downstairs to go eat breakfast before heading to school.
I walked downstairs, the smell of fresh coffee filling the air. My mom was already up, sipping her morning cup and reading something on her tablet. She looked up as I entered the kitchen, offering me a warm smile.
"Morning, honey. Did you sleep well?" she asked.
"Yeah, I did. Stream went pretty well last night too," I replied, grabbing a bowl and pouring in some cereal.
"That's great to hear! You've been working so hard, Avery. It's good to see it paying off," she said, taking another sip of her coffee.
I smiled, but my thoughts were still on Spoke. The fact that he had followed me on all my socials was unexpected, and it left me with a strange mix of excitement and curiosity. I mean, he was one of the growing names in the Minecraft community as of right now. Why would he take such an interest in my content?
I quickly finished my breakfast, feeling the weight of the long day ahead. School was always a bit of a drag, but at least I had volleyball practice to look forward to. It was a nice break from everything else, even if it did make for a long day.
"Alright, I'm heading out," I called to my mom as I grabbed my bags.
"Good luck at school and have a great practice!" she replied.
I stepped out into the crisp morning air, the sky still tinged with the soft light of dawn. The bus stop wasn't too far from my house, so I made my way there, earbuds in, listening to best by Gracie Abrams.
School was as uneventful as ever. The usual routine of classes, note-taking, and half-paying attention while I thought about other things. I couldn't help but wonder what Spoke was up to, if he'd checked out any more of my content, or if last night was just a one-time thing.
During lunch, I pulled out my phone, scrolling through Twitter and seeing the usual buzz. A few notifications popped up—people liking my tweets from last night, a couple of new followers—but nothing out of the ordinary.
My mind drifted back to my stream. Spoke's comments about my build were still fresh, and I couldn't wait to get back to it. Maybe tonight I'd make those adjustments he suggested, adding those hidden traps and passages to my base. The thought of him popping into my stream again made me smile.
Classes dragged on until the final bell rang, signalling the end of the school day. I quickly gathered my things and headed to the gym for volleyball practice. It was my escape, the one place where I could forget about everything else and just focus on the game.
As I warmed up, my teammates chatted about their day, and I found myself zoning out a bit, still thinking about the events of the past 24 hours. It wasn't until the coach called us into a huddle that I snapped back to reality.
"Avery, you with us?" Coach said, giving me a pointed look.
"Yeah, sorry Coach. Just got a lot on my mind," I replied, shaking off the thoughts.
"Alright, let's focus up then. We've got a big game coming up, and I need everyone's head in the game," Coach said firmly.
Practice went by in a blur of drills and scrimmages. By the time we were done, I was exhausted, but in a good way. It was nearly 9 pm when I finally got home, my body aching but my mind a bit clearer.
After a quick dinner and shower, I decided to check my socials before bed. I saw that Spoke had posted a new tweet, something about a new project he was working on for the lifesteal SMP. I liked the tweet and then noticed something surprising—a DM from Spoke himself.
I opened the message.
Spokeishere:
Hey, Avery
Really enjoyed your stream last night!
I was talking with some friends, and we needed an extra person for a recording with some Minecraft mods. They askedme if I knew anyone so I kinda of said that you could.
I still need you so accept my offer though, you up for it?
A mix of excitement and nerves washed over me. A collab? With Spoke? This was huge! I quickly typed out a response, trying to keep my cool.
Avsnothere:
Hey, Spoke!
Thanks so much for the support.
I'd have so check my calendar but sure! I'd love to!!
I hit send and stared at the screen for a moment, my mind racing. This could be a big opportunity for me, but it also meant stepping out of my comfort zone. I didn't know Spoke or his friends well, and the idea of working with people of their calibre was both thrilling and terrifying.
Spokeishere:
Great! Ok I'll send you a discord friend request so I can ass you to the group chat so we can organise everything! Thanks again!
Avsnothere:
Yeah! Just got it! I'm gonna head to bed, add me to the gc and ill see everything tomorrow!
But this was what I wanted, right? To grow as a content creator, to push myself and take on new challenges.
I took a deep breath and shut my phone off, trying to calm the flutter of nerves in my stomach. Whatever happened next, I knew I had to be ready for it. This could be the start of something big.
