"You did it." I laugh into to the phone. "You did it!" Tears stream down my face. "You did it." My voice cracks. "Why."
"Anything for you, darling."
"I didn't want this! I didn't want this. You didn't even get the right person...! All you were suppose to do was to, hmm, I don't know, give them a minor sprain?! Not put that random ass girl in the fucking hospital in fucking critical condition...!"
"I did what you asked. I just made a few... ah... calculation errors... It won't happen again... Trust me."
"Yeah?! A few... 'calculation errors'?! A few?! Why are you doing this?! I never asked you!!"
"Oh, you didn't have to. I could tell you wanted to... You just... didn't have to guts to. But don't worry, sweet heart, I do. And I will end it... soon, I promise. Soon."
"I. Never. Fucking. WANTED THIS!!!"
"Fine. Maybe you did, maybe you didn't. But that doesn't change what you said to me that day. Either way, it doesn't matter. I'm going through with this, whether you want me to or not, and there's nothing, nothing you can do to stop me. Nothing. I won't stop until the job is done. Oh, and don't worry. If you try to interfere, I will know, and you and your... ah... friends... will be next..."
The phone hangs up. I can't help it. Laughter bubbles up, and I start giggling. Laughter turns to full on sobbing, and I see people look at me weird out of the corner of my eyes. I drop the phone, shaking. What have I done???
