Winter, with all due respect, fuck you.

Qibli's POV

Okay, what in the fresh fuck has Winter gotten himself into now?

I shift in the bushes, wincing when I smack into a rose thorn. Yes, I followed him into the gardens. Yes, I watched him almost have a panic attack. Not gunna lie, it was one of the first times I've seen Winter truly  vulnerable. It was hard to watch. And yes, I heard his and Icicle's conversation. What the hell? What is she talking about? 'Meet my during fifth period'. Sounds like a ton of bull shit if I've ever heard any.

Crack! Well, fuck. Guess my cover's blown. Even though Winter's half deaf, he has got to have heard that twig I just stepped on.

Okay guys, hear me out, I don't think that I'd make a good spy. Fuck, I wouldn't even be able to be one of those creepy ass stalkers that can't even complete their stalking mission properly. I suck ass at being a spy.

I watch as Winter whips around, squinting at the bushes, suspiciously. His eyes eventually narrow in on my silhouette, and I know there is no use hiding from him. I stand up sheepishly, embarrassed I was caught. His eyes widen for a fraction of a second, before they narrow again, accusations unasked.

"You." He looks full on furious.

"Me." I nod, and find there's no use in hiding the fact I spied on them; if he already hadn't figured that out, he'd be denser than Coconut, and no offense to Coconut, but that's saying something.

"How much did you hear?" He hisses, voice low and on edge.

"Ummm..." Okay Qibli, think. The one thing your good at. How can I get out of this situation without Winter turning psycho on me and becoming the next school murderer? I decide to just go with the truth; it doesn't matter anyway, as I'm a pretty bad liar if I do say so myself.

"Sooo... don't get mad Winter..." He grunts, motioning me to go on. Not promising, but not the worst thing I expected him to do. I continue.

"I... kinda... maybe heard... everything...?" I close my eyes and hope to dear GOD that Winter doesn't explode. Instead, he sighs.

"God DAMMIT Qibli! Can you not leave me alone for ONCE!" He yells at the sky, and I wince. Oops.

Birds on the nearby trees take flight in alarm, circling the sky to assess for threats and check if the coast is clear.

"Well... In my defense... You were acting very suspicious. I was just trying to make sure you wouldn't run off and or do anything reckless."

"Like what?" He demands, and I can tell he's getting fired up.

"Like, I don't know, turn into a school shooter or something?" He looks at me blankly, and I shrug. "I don't know, okay! People around the world have been snapping  lately, so maybe... You snapped too..?" He's still staring at me blankly, so I start to get annoyed.

"Look, I was concerned for you, and it looked like you were up to no good, and you were...!" I point out, and he shifts uncomfortably. "So point is, I was right, fuck you, and now I'm going to have to stop you from doing some risky shit." He finally seems to be catching on, slowly nodding before realizing what he was nodding to, then profusely shaking his head.

"I can do this alone," He said firmly, acting all heroic. "I don't need you to help me; you'd just be a liability." I'm tempted to snort at his heroic, sappy face, but instead I just roll my eyes.

"Look, as much as I want to go and stuff my face with junk food, veg on the couch, and watch YouTube til my brains rot, I'm not letting you go alone. From what I heard, it sounds like Icicle is up to no good, and mind you, I heard everything." He looks at me, annoyed, and I glare at him, annoyed, right back at him.

"Look, either I'm coming with you or I report you to the principal, and with all that just went on just now, I don't think the principal would be in the mood to deal with delinquent students right now. So either I'm coming, or your little 'meeting' will end in both of you getting detention or worse." He glares at me, and turns his back towards me, starting to walk back into the buildings. I make a move to follow.

"You know you're annoying right?"

"Winter, I've been told that all my life." Something in my voice must get to him, as I'm hit in the face by memories of my past life;  Rattlesnake, Sirocco, Cobra, Vulture, (seriously, does my biological family have sucky ass names or what?). Then I'm pulled back into the present, and firmly remind myself I have a new life now, and my mother is THORN, and I have an older sister, Sunny.

Winter's voice softens a bit, and he turns to look at me, stopping.

"Seriously though, you don't have to come." He hesitates, wondering if he should tell me more. "My family's not the... kindest... and if my hunch is right, this will probably somehow tie back to more family drama between my family, and... Snowfalls..."

Oh right! Winter and Snowfall are technically cousins...

"Winter, it's fine. I don't care. And, you know what they say, roommates have to support roommates, right?" Winter wrinkles his nose as he continues to walk, and I soon follow suit.

"You dipshit. They never say that." I roll my eyes.

"You know what I mean. We're in this together." He doesn't say anything, but I can tell he's grateful by the look in his eyes.

"Thank you, Qibli... for... everything..."

"No problem. Like I said, roommates have to support their roommates! Or... something like that..." He lightly chuckles, a smile playing on his lips.

"Still though, thanks..." I smile back, thanking him as he holds the door for me so I can go inside.

"What are roommates for Winter? What are roommates for."
