MAXINE'S POV
“You’re back,” she said, her voice tight.
“Dad’s furious,” she added. “He knows, Max. He knows you shot his men, and everything. Alam na niya lahat lahat max”
I clenched my jaw.
“That’s not the worst of it, Max.” Her voice wavered, and for the first time, I saw genuine fear in her eyes. “Dad’s ordered a hit on both of Aiesha’s parents. Not just her father. They’re going after her mother too.”
I froze, my blood running cold. “What?”
Ate Parcia nodded slowly, her face full of sorrow. “He wants to make sure no one connected to the Alvarez family survives. Ngayon na tinapos mo na si Elias, Aiesha’s mom is next.”
I could barely breathe. The room seemed to spin around me as the weight of her words settled in. Aiesha’s mother. She was innocent in all of this. How could my father do this? Bakit kailangan niya itong idamay?
“She’s not involved,” I whispered, my voice cracking. “She has nothing to do with this.”
Ate parcia reached out, gripping my arm. “I know. Kaya nga sinasabi ko sayo to. Dahil hindi ko narin kilala si dad, Max. You need to go. Now.”
My heart pounded in my chest, my mind racing. I didn’t have time to think. I had to act. I had to stop them before it was too late.
Without another word, I turned and sprinted back to my motorcycle. The engine roared to life as I peeled out of the driveway, the wind whipping against my face as I raced toward the location I had tracked Aiesha’s mother to.
Sobrang gulo na ng isip ko, basta isa lang ang gusto kong gawin ngayon, save the last piece of Aiesha’s family.
As I neared the location, I spotted several black SUVs parked near the building. My father’s men were already here. And worse, I recognized the familiar black helmets and jackets of the Siniestros.
F*ck marumi talaga sila mag laro....
I parked my bike a safe distance away and quickly changed into the spare clothes I always carried, black tactical gear, a mask, and a hat to cover my face. I couldn’t afford to be recognized. Not now.
With my gun drawn, I moved silently toward the building. My heart pounded in my chest as I scanned the area, looking for any sign of Aiesha’s mother.
At nang makita ko siya, she was standing in the open, vulnerable, And then I saw it....the slow, horrifying moment as three bullets pierced her body.
Her face contorted in pain, and time seemed to slow down as I watched her stumble, blood blossoming across her shirt.
“No!” I screamed, my voice breaking as I sprinted toward her.
I didn’t stop. I fired at the Siniestros men with precision, my shots taking them down one by one.
But I didn’t stop.
I finally reached her, collapsing next to her as blood soaked the ground around us. Her eyes were wide with fear, her breathing shallow.
“Hold on,” I whispered, pressing my hands to her wounds, trying to stop the bleeding. “Please, hold on.”
The life was fading from her eyes, and no matter how much I tried to stop it, she was slipping away.
I heard footsteps in fromt of me and looked up to see Uncle Nathan, Gian’s father and the leader of the Phantom, approaching.
His eyes widened in shock when he saw me, but he quickly ordered his men to take out the remaining Siniestros.
But it didn’t matter anymore. None of it mattered.
I was too late.
The sound of more footsteps filled the air, and I turned just in time to see Aiesha, Cole, Gian, Skye, Yves, Solace, and Shee rushing toward us.
Their faces were a mix of shock and horror as they took in the scene Aiesha’s mother lying motionless in my arms, and me, covered in blood, holding a gun.
Aiesha’s eyes locked onto mine, and I saw the devastation in her gaze. Without a word, she rushed toward me, her face twisted in pain and betrayal.
“What have you done?” she whispered, her voice breaking.
Before I could explain, her hand came down hard across my face, the sound of the slap ringing in my ears. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she stared at me, her body trembling with grief.
“I trusted you,” Aiesha sobbed, her voice barely audible. “I trusted you, Max. How could you do this?”
I swallowed hard, my chest tightening with the weight of her words. The pain in her eyes was unbearable, and I wanted to reach out to her, to tell her the truth, but I knew she wouldn’t believe me. Not now. Not after everything.
At sigurado ko any time malalaman narin niya ang ginawa ko sa daddy niya...
" Aiesha, we need to bring tita to the hospital, humihina na ang pulso niya" natatarantang saad ni yves agad na binuhat ni cole ang mommy ni aiesha at umalis na sila.
My vision blurred as the blood loss finally caught up with me. My body felt heavy, and I could barely keep my eyes open. But before I passed out, I whispered the only words I could think of, the only words that mattered.
“You said you trusted me, my love~…”
And then, everything went dark.
