Epilogue 1: Shiall
I'm so sorry this has taken me like a month! I've been super stressed and haven't had motivation, but it's back! I'll most likely publish 2-3 chapters today!

2024

Third person POV:
(A/N: Lmk if you like third person or first person better)

Niall and Shawn had been working on a song together for a while now. 1D spilt up 9 years ago, but what fans don't know is that there will be a reunion in 2025.

For now though, they all still have to focus on their solo careers. Shawn and Niall have yet to come out, so they want this song to be a love song, to act as their coming out.

The song has been coming along well. It's going to go on Niall's fourth album, called Fireproof.

This is what they've come up with so far:

It's not an illusion

I've been thinking 'bout the nights and the dangerous tricks
People play on the eyes of the innocent (Yeah)
I could turn a lot of hearts into breaks with smoke
And mirrors disappearing right in front of them

"Hmm, maybe we can do like a "I promise this is real" type of lyric maybe?" Niall suggests.

Shawn took the notebook and started writing. After about 2-5 minutes, he showed Niall a page that said:

But believe me (Yeah)
I'm not trying to deceive ya (Yeah)
I promise falling for me won't be a mistake

"Holy shit babe, that's a great pre chorus." Niall said, giving the former a quick kiss. "Here's what I have for a chorus so far" Niall said, setting his phone up against the water bottle on the table, playing his guitar as he sings:

"No, baby, this is not an illusion
I've really got my heart out on my sleeve (Yeah)
Oh, baby, this is not an illusion
There's magic between you and me"

When he's done, he looks at Shawn waiting for him to say something. When he doesn't, Niall speaks up. "Do you not li-" he's cut off by Shawn leaning down and kissing him.

They kiss for a while, soaking up the warmth of each other's body's pressed flush against the other.

When they pull apart, Shawn speaks. "Babe that was amazing. You always write such beautiful stuff. Maybe we could add something like "You really got my head up in the clouds, or li-" he cut himself off.

"Oh I know! I can be like "you really got me lifted off my feet" maybe?" He asks.

"Great idea" Niall says.

They decided to call the song Illusion when they were done with it, both of them loving the song, because it really shows what their relationship and feelings are like for each other.

Finally, it was release day of the song. It was the first single of the album. When the song was released, thirty minutes after, they were going to walk around outside, making sure the paps were there, so that if their was any doubt about a relationship, it would be gone.

But for now, 28 seconds until release.

27, 26, 25, 24...

3, 2, 1. The song was out. They were both incredibly nervous, yet very excited.

Niall checked Spotify, seeing "illusion Ft. Shawn Mendes" on his Discography.

All of the sudden both of their phones started blowing up with notifications from Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, messages from family and friends, congratulating them. Really anyone and everyone honestly.

20 minutes past, and sooner than either of them had realized it was time for them to go out for their pap walk.

This was different than any pap walk they had ever done, because when they had done it before, it had been for beards or for coverups just like Louis or Harry.

As they stepped out onto the street, they were bombarded with paparazzi, flashing cameras, fans asking them to sign things, and everybody asking them the same question. "Are you two dating?"

When asked this question, they would both respond "Yes" before continuing their walk, trying to get away from everyone, but they were swarmed honestly.

This was much more stressful than they had initially expected it to be, as they expected they would just go for a walk and people would take cameras and yell at them from afar, but this is crazier than either of them had anticipated.

They hopped into a black SUV at the end of the street and it started to drive to Niall's  house where Liam, Zayn, Louis and Harry we're all staying doing a listening party because Niall and Shawn had refused to let them listen to the song before it came out.

When they got home, they were happy to see a the boys running towards them. They congratulated them, and gave them hugs.

They all sat back down, at had a chat.

"How did the walk go?" Liam asked. "Good, yeh, but people were way closer than we were expecting." Niall responded.

They then decided to make instagram posts. Niall posted first, then Shawn, then the rest of them, congratulating the two boys.

When they got home, Niall and Shawn sprawled out on their sofa, watching TV and laughing till the sun came up.

Eventually, they went to their room, but no one needs to hear about any of that.
