Description: When Happy's old lady is almost kidnapped, it no longer matters that they were forced together. She's his and he takes care of what's his.

I sat on the couch in the clubhouse curled in on myself. Gemma had made me coffee and I was clutching the mug to my chest as Gemma rubbed my back.

"Want to tell me who did this to you or do I need to find out the hard way?" Happy growled.

I shook my head and Happy growled a little. I flinched away from the harsh noise. We still weren't 100% sure around one another even though he's technically my old man.

He squatted in front of me and took my coffee mug, setting it on the floor in between us. He took both my hands and tried to keep me from pulling away.

"Who did this to you?"

His voice was harsh still. I wiped my eyes on my shoulder since he was still holding my hands.

"You have to tell him baby," Gemma said softly.

"I don't know," I said. "It all happened so fast."

"It was one of those kids in the new gang," Jax said. He'd been the one to save me when I was nearly kidnapped.

"Which one?" Happy asked. I kept my eyes down and avoided eye contact. I still managed to see see Happy make eye contact with Gemma as she mouthed something to him.

"Little girl," Happy's voice was still gruff but he was much softer.

I looked at him but still avoided eye contact.

"What did he look like?"

"Um dark hair, dark eyes, he had a tattoo on his cheek. A cross and some other symbol."

"Good girl," he leaned forward and kissed my forehead.

"She's mine." Happy was no longer talking to me as he handed me my coffee once again. "I need to handle this." He turned to face Gemma. "Take her to shower and try to help her relax. Lavender helps and reading. She has a few-."

"Happy I'm okay," I said. I looked up at him for the first time since the attack.

"And I will be okay when he's dead."

I grabbed his hand and he paused a second. "I'm okay Happy. Just take care of this and get home."

He nodded as I stood up. He kissed my head again before leaving with the guys.

"I'm going to go shower," I said as Gemma took the mug from me.

"Are you sure?"

I nodded and walked down the hallway. I'd been here a few times and the bright white SA on the door of Happy's dorm helped me remember which one was his. I tried to open it and the door didn't budge. Of course he had locked it.

I turned around and returned to Gemma. She was sitting at the bar. Juice was sitting at the other end, watching the cameras.

"It's locked," I said softly. I sat down on the stool next to Gemma.

"I have a spare key around here somewhere," Gemma said.

"Don't worry about it," I said. "As long as there's coffee, I'm fine."

She chuckled and motioned to the coffee pot behind the bar. I stood up and went to get a new mug from the kitchen. I poured a bit of creamer into the mug before returning to the bar and filling the mug with coffee.

"How long do you think they'll be gone?" I asked loud enough Juice could hear too.

"It's better to not worry about that baby. He'll be home soon enough," Gemma said.

Juice looked at me. "He'll be back for you. We can all see it."

"What?" I asked.

"He's falling for you. Whether you see it or want to believe it."

I stared at Gemma, a little bit in shock. "No."

"He is."

I smiled a little. "I really care about him too. He scares me less now and I can see how much he'll do to keep me safe."

Gemma just nodded. She knew my past. I needed to feel safe, that's part of how I wound up here, with Gemma and the MC. Gemma has known me my whole life. She's the closest thing to a mother I've ever had, and my father was somehow even less present than my mother who abandoned me.

We sat in silence for a while, something I wasn't used to. It made me wish I could get in to Happy's dorm and get one of my books. He had insisted on spending money on me shortly after we were married and the only store in Charming I had any interest in was the bookstore. Since then, he's found any and every reason to buy me books.

After a few hours, a group of men pulled up out front. I was worried at first but relaxed when I realized it was just the guys. Happy stepped off his bike and came running in.

He froze just inside the door as we made eye contact. He looked rough like he'd been on an adrenaline high and was coming down. He was covered in more blood than anyone should be, but since none of his clothes seemed to be clinging to his body like they were soaking in his blood I tried to not worry.

"Baby," he said softly. I just held eye contact and smiled a little since he was okay. He walked over and stood next to me.

"I need a shower. We're going to stay here tonight in case of retaliation, but I seriously doubt that will happen."

I nodded a little and he turned to walk to the dorm and I stood up to follow him.

"You didn't shower?"

"Gemma doesn't know where the spare key is," I said. He smirked a little. He wouldn't tell her off about it since he was scared of her. That much was painfully obvious.

Happy unlocked the door and let me inside. I immediately beelined for the dresser, grabbing him a pair of boxers for after his shower. I took them in and set them on the sink, starting his shower before setting a towel out for him as well.

"You shower first. I'll read for a bit," I said.

"Join me baby," he said. I stopped in my tracks. He was standing in the doorway with one of his shirts and a pair of my panties for me to sleep in.

"I-."

We've been intimate a few times, but I still get nervous.

"No sex," he said with a smirk. "Though you won't be able to resist me once I'm naked."

I laughed a little at him. "Okay I'll join you."

He stepped forward and kissed my lips gently before pulling away to undress.
