Kelsey couldn't see anything as she gazed out of the ceiling-to-floor windows that were supposed to overlook the Hudson. However, their building was engulfed in a rain cloud which left them with little to no visibility. Listening as Shamar wrapped up his conversation with whoever was on the other end of the phone, she heard words like weather, pilot, and California.
Turning around, Kelsey watched as her husband stood at the opposite end of their penthouse. His phone to his ear, watching intently as their two sons watched TV nearby.
Kelsey was approaching him as he ended the call. "We're not leaving, are we?" she inquired, even before he had fully disconnected.
"Why wouldn't we?" He questioned
"Natalia is missing, we should stay with them." She said, her face twisted in confusion.
"Kelsey it ain't nothin' more we can do being here, Shane got everybody looking for her. If they can't find her, we damn sure can't. He knows I'm leaving, matter of fact he was the one who suggested it. I'll be more helpful in Cali than here. We leaving in a couple of hours." He replied as he headed for the kitchen.
Following him, "Well I can stay here, I wanna be here for her Shamar." Folding her arms across her chest she watched as he grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and returned his attention to his wife.
"No," He replied, his answer blunt and straight to the point. Walking past her and out of the kitchen. Shamar could tell by the look on her face that wasn't the answer she was expecting, so he wasn't surprised to hear her footsteps behind him.
"No? And why not? It's not like I'll be going anywhere. I'll be here, with Paris. I have security, so what's the issue?" She asked
"The issue is you pregnant. You and your sister-in-law don't like to listen. And just maybe you two on two different coasts is the only thing that will sit you the fuck down." He replied.
Sighing, Kelsey continued following him as he made his way into his office. "Could you stop, trying to control everything for one second and look at the bigger picture? Paris loves Natalia. She just lost her baby. If Shane is on this like he says he is he will be gone all of the time, she's dealing with post-partum, her sister is missing and she'll be home alone with those kids and her mother. I need to stay here." Kelsey watched as Shamar sat behind his desk and up into her eyes.
"We leaving in a couple of hours." He reiterated, nonchalantly. Ignoring everything she had just said.
Kelsey scoffed, pausing for a second she sat down in front of his desk "I'm not leaving," she said
"Yes, you are," Shamar replied, looking past her as Cameron walked through the door.
"Wassup Kelsey," he said as he sat beside her
"Hi," she quickly replied, her eyes not leaving Shamar.
"Make sure you and the kids are ready to go by 7:00. You can go now," Dismissing her, Shamar sat back in his chair waiting for her to leave.
"Shamar," she began but was cut off.
"Kelsey," he said, not even giving her the chance to finish what she was about to say.
Rolling her eyes she stood to her feet and walked out of his office. Purposely slamming the door in the process.
