I cracked the knuckles in my hands and stretched my limbs without causing myself to get a muscle crap, getting the kinks out of my back as I shifted my weight from side to side, against the hard wooden chair I had been sitting in for the past several hours, that was causing my legs to become numb and my ass to be sore.

One thing I dreaded the most about Hunter Ballister Library here at the University of Alphacrest was that the chairs never were comfortable to sit in. I was sitting on the third floor, which had thousands of medical-related books on various shelves around me, and many students were either sitting at a long rectangular table similar to the one that was cooped in, with a pair of headphones on listening to music, while they were typing away a desktop computer provided by the university or their technological device.

I did not have any classes scheduled for today, which was Wednesday, my class schedule for this semester consisted of me taking three lecture classes at the moment that would end within five weeks from now and I would start four more classes once the five-week interval stopped. By the end of my first year of medical school, I would have taken 10 to 11 courses.

I was already off to a rough start in medical school being that the president of the University of Alphacrest, Dr. Elias Grayson, was somehow murdered at his residence hours after giving the induction commencement speech for my class. It frightened me that someone would go out of their way to harm the older man who seemed as though he wouldn't hurt a damn fly. Eryx did not seem to show any sympathy for the man when I told him about Dr. Grayson's death.

I am not sure why he believed that the man had enemies, but maybe he was trying to look at the bigger picture or angle of the situation that I was unable to see. It's been three weeks since my classes have started and, I already feel like I am on the verge of getting behind due to stress, lack of sleep, and trying to find a way to be in medical school.

There was so much information I had to learn in so little time, but I pushed myself every day to read over the assigned textbook chapters for my classes my professors placed in the class syllabus to study, jot down notes on my Macbook while in class as my professor various medical-related theories and concepts, and listened to audio recordings that were uploaded to Blackboard so I can go back and watch to have a better understanding the medical topics being discussed.

One of my classes, Fundamentals of Medicine, was causing me to become stressed because I had two papers as well as a lab to attend on Friday, that I was not looking forward to. I open my mouth and yawn as I try to maintain my attention on the chapter I was reading about as I was trying to get back into my groove, I am interrupted by someone clearing their throat.

I glance up with my head resting on my right elbow as I see a man with a stocky build, with broad shoulders, his skin is a warm terra cotta, and his features are well-defined. His cheeks are slightly rounded and his jawline is strong. His honey-blonde dreadlocks are placed in the hairstyle of a man-bun.

I watch as his midnight-colored eyes roam down taking in all of my textbooks, notebooks, highlighters, and pens, covering the entire table before he makes eye contact with me again. "

Are you in Dr. Lola Bliss's Fundamental of Medicine class"? I raised my eyebrows, wondering how he was capable of knowing which class I was studying for. As if he can read my mind, the guy points down to the Language of Medicine textbook.

"Dr. Bliss is the only one I know who likes to use that textbook for first-year med students". I brace a nod at the guy still wondering what exactly why he interrupted me in the first place.

"I am Blaze, I'm one of Dr. Bliss's teacher's assistants. I just came over to introduce myself being I saw you the other day in class and didn't get around to introducing myself to you". I give a small smile, making sure to not come off flirtatious or anything, strictly platonic.
