"Because of you."
To get his mind off the events of what happened to his father and Liora, Rowen goes down to the dungeons and gets ready to talk to the prisoner again. He needs to find out of there is another threat that will be coming their way. The king has already upped the security, most guards don't get more then a few hours rest now, but its all in order to protect the Princess.
Rowen also talked to the King about him being the one to take over his fathers role in protecting Liora, he truly didn't trust anyone else to look after her. So as he made his way down the many stair cases he planed his words, what he would say to her the intruder to speak.
What was the reason for targeting the princess?
Were there any specific instructions given to you?
Are there other plots or threats we should be aware of?
Those were just the basic questions he needed to ask. Otherwise he was ready, Rowen knew the princess was safe for the moment since she was in the care of the healers. Rowen was worried there was more to the plan, which is why he planed to ask, he just hoped he wasn't to late.
When he entered the dungeons he walked to the cell the intruder was occupying. He stood there for a moment before drawing a chair from the side where guards would often sit while they watched the prisoner. He pulled the chair in front of the cell taking a seat, leaning his elbows on his knees as he stared at the intruder. The intruder just stared back,
"Were gonna start my asking questions, I do hope for your sake you answer them truthfully." Rowen said clasping his hands together. The man before him stayed silent not even the smallest of moments to indicate he had heard Rowen.
Eventually the man nodded, though reluctant Rowen hoped he could get some answers.
"First, what is you name?" Rowen asked.
"Elias Wraith." The man stated coldly as he finally moved pulling his own chair forward and sitting in front of Rowen.
"What was the reason for targeting the princess?" Rowen asked, partly knowing the reason. If it got out about her power then people would either want to kill her or capture her.
Elias was quiet as he pondered his answer, wondering if it was worth it to lie. He figured is he told the truth he could make a deal, be a double agent of sorts.
"Her power." He finally answered.
"How did you find out about her power?" Rowen asked, he never saw Liora use it and wondered where someone would have. He had been close to her at a young age and never knew, how could this stranger know?
"We sent a spy, just to figure out why the princess was kept away, there have always been rumors of a strange magic in her family." Elias answered truthfully, leaning back in his chair as if comfortable with the fact that he was here in a cell and not back at his own kingdom telling them of the failed mission.
"Were there any specific instructions given to you?" Rowen asked, glancing to a table behind here where a small dagger lay, they get it off the intruder before putting him in the cell, along with his sword.
Elias shakes his head, "No, just to kill her." Rowen was appalled my how calm the man says this, he seemed so cold hearted. But then again, it could be training. Rowen knows he was cold...he liked to call it professional.
"Are there other plots or threats we should be aware of?" This was the final question, and Elias could tell, if he lied about this one he could be put to death. But they wouldn't know he lied till the attack happened, and he could have a chance to get away.
