"Hi, Bull," You said chirpily as you set yourself down at the booth in front of the main counter. "Could I have the usual?"

"Pepperoni pizza?" Bull said stonily. "Sure, coming right up."

You looked around as you waited for your food; apart from an old man, there was nobody else in the restaurant, which was dark and dim, just like the deadly streets of Retropolis that lay outside.

After your long days of work, you came here everyday to unwind as you chatted a bit with Bull. He wasn't much of a talker, though. Most of the time he just stayed silent as you told him about your day, and today probably wouldn't be much different.

You were still thinking to yourself when you heard loud shouting somewhere in the restaurant. You whirled around, and you saw the old man from earlier, being shoved out the door by Bull. You couldn't make much out of their overlapping voices, but it was something about how the old man owed Bull a large sum of money or something.

Yeah...Bull had a bit of a...gangster side. He was known to be the "iron fists" of Retropolis, fierce and dangerous, ready to beat up anybody that displeased him or got in his way. In fact, you were literally the only person in the city that he didn't hate.

You took that as a good sign--after all, you had known him for very long, and loved him for one second less than that duration. He was nice to you, kinda handsome, and caring. Everyone told you that this wasn't a good idea, that there was no point trying to pursue Bull because he was a "big jerk who was incapable of love", but you wouldn't listen--you were determined to melt his steely, icy heart. And you would stop at literally noting to achieve that.

After that, things seemed to calm down much more, and Bull came to your table like usual, having no other customers to attend to.

"How'd things go for you?" Bull asked, exhaustion obvious in his voice.

"Well..." you proceeded to chatter with him about the long day you had...first some idiot wrongly sent a shipment to China instead of U.S.A., then somebody spilled coffee on the printer, then you had to fire someone who was really positive but just didn't have the aptitude to work at your firm.

By the time you finished, it was eleven in the night, and you waved goodbye to Bull as you left. Then, out of the blue, someone put a bag over your head and hissed venomously, "Run, and I'll shoot you."

You gulped and shuffled slowly towards the person who held you.

Just then, a gunshot echoed, and a loud grunt from nearby rang in your eyes, followed by numerous punches landing.

Then, your blindfold was ripped off to reveal Bull in front of you, and three men on the floor, bleeding and unconscious.

"You okay?" Bull whispered, brushing your hair aside to look into your eyes.

"Ye-yes," You stammered nervously.

"Good, cos' I..." Bull stumbled on his words, eventually settling for a , "If anything happened to you...I'd never forgive myself."

Your eyes widened as your mind began to piece together where this was going.

"Truth is, I've liked you since the day I met you, Y/N. Every day I try to muster the courage, but I get shot down by the worries in my heart, that you'll reject me. If you ever got hurt, I would never forgive myself, ever. Because I swore that I would protect you from the dangers of this city. I've loved you so much, but never been able to tell you until today, for some reason. But now, I wanna know, do you...also...?" Bull confessed, his cheeks reddening with every word that came from his mouth.

Your eyes glittered with tears of joy in the moonlight, and as you looked into his, you knew, this was true love.

So you kissed him tenderly, your lips touching perfectly, your breaths identical and in unison, the smell of citrus drifting from his hair into your nose as you grabbed his hands and held them in yours. And you never wanted to let go.
