"No way," you breathed. "She-she's back?"

Just two minutes ago, you had received an email about a new show coming to town. The Stunt Show was coming to Aquamarina, the city which you lived in, and the capital of Brawltopia.

And the lead performer? Janet.

Your old friend, Janet.

The last time you had seen her...

"I...I really have to go now, Y/N," Janet whispered. "Dad wants us to move back home. I have to leave everyone...even...you. Bye..."

She released her hold on your hand and went to the boarding gate. But before she stepped out of sight, she turned to look at you, one last time.

And you glanced at her in the same way. Your crush was leaving forever...

And there was nothing to do about it.

All love stories didn't have a good ending after all.

She smiled one last time, but her eyes were heartbreakingly sad as she turned awa and disappeared.

You wondered if she still remembered you, and decided to buy tickets for her first show on Tuesday.

Finally that day came around, and you cheered and clapped at her performance from the front row. But truly, the only thing on your mind was, "Does she still remember me, after all these years?"

You hoped the answer was yes. But you knew it would likely be no.

Still, you would never give up on her. You would never stop loving her.

So, when the show finished, you headed backstage and was trying to find Janet when a gruff voice commanded your attention.

"You're not allowed back here," A robot told you.

You assumed it was Stu-Janet's father.

"No, I..." You began, but you were cut off by a loud crash.

The two of you wheeled around to find a very familiar white-haired girl, and a broken cup on the floor.

Her once innocent face had matured. Her glossy hair had grown out even longer. And her blue eyes seemed older, a bit wiser.

But she was recognisable all the same. Janet.

She blinked twice, hard, before she finally gasped, "Is it..really...you...Y/N?"

She still did. Even after all these years, even after gaining all this fame...she still remembered you.

"Yes," You smiled shyly.

"This is Y/N, Dad," Janet introduced you to Stu. "He was my best friend back then in high school, before we moved away."

Janet didn't wait for a response before she pulled you out of the building to an open glade, where the reflection of the moon shone in the clear lake, and where the wind sighed softly, breezing through the neat blades of grass.

"It's so great to see you," Janet smiled. "What brings you to my show, Y/N?"

You were pretty sure she could see the red tint beginning to colour your pale complexion as you confessed, "All this time, I never forgot about you. So when I heard you were back in town, I had to see you again."

Janet blushed too, as she stammered, "I...I...never forgot you too, Y/N."

You grinned lightly. "Nice to know that, Jan."

She giggled at the old pet name. "Shall we...dance?" She asked.

You nodded, feeling ecstatic. It was living in your fantasies, your teenage dreams.

You gasped as the two of you rose into the air, until you were so high in the sky, the buildings seemed like insignificant dots.

Then together you danced, cheeks flushed, staring deep into each other's eyes silently.

Until you mustered the courage to say, "Janet?"

"Yeah?" Your long-time love asked.

"Now that you're b-back in town, I-I have to tell you..." You tripped over your own words from nerves. But finally you braved out, "I really like you, Janet. Even if you like someone else, even if you don't like me, I just had to tell you."

Janet said nothing as she placed her hands on your shoulders and the two of you danced closer than ever, high in the sky. Then she finally whispered, "I love you, Y/N."

And there it was. Proof that love always won, and the very beginning of a perfect love story.
