"Hi...hi, Stu," You mumbled out as you stood there in the corridor awkwardly, your friends silently cheering you on from behind, the handsome boy (imagine Stu is a real human) in front of you giving you a flirtatious smile as he asked, "What's up, Y/N? I've seen you around a lot lately, you stalkin' me or somethin'?"
"N-No!" You stammered. "I-I just..."
"Just teasing, don't worry," Stu laughed, his smile still not leaving his face.
"Oh, ok...Truth is, I just wanted to ask you...do you...wanna go out for...like...dinner later?" You blushed lightly as you finally got the question out.
"Of course! How can I say not to a cutie like you?" Stu teased. "Send me the deets later, I gotta go for basketall training."
He waved goodbye as he rushed off, and immediately your friends ran to your side and screamed, "YOU DID IT, Y/N! AFTER LIKE, TEN YEARS OF---"
"Shh!" You shushed them. "People are looking."
You were right--the students all around you were looking at you--especially the female ones, and they didn't look happy even in the slightest.
"Yea," Celine agreed. "But it isn't because of us, it's because everyone just watched you ask Stu out in the hallway, and then heard Stu call you a "cutie"."
You flushed fiery red and said, "Oh well...hope it goes well."
"Aww, sweetie, don't get your hopes up too high. You of all people know that he's a playboy--his catchphrase is literally "a player's gotta play". And he's right, you know. It's really difficult for these hot guys to settle down and choose one when they have so many girls chasing them," Yumi reminded you.
"Well...what can I say?" You murmured dreamily. "Maybe...I can be the one to get him to stop just playing, and win the game."
<*~*>
"Hey Stu, we still on for tonight?" You texted him around mid-afternoon, hoping you wouldn't cancel suddenly because of his eternally busy schedule.
"Sure, Y/N. I wouldn't wanna disappoint you after all. So, where we eatin'?" Stu responded instantaneously.
You felt your cheeks burning again as you asked, "Does The Dancing Crab at 1800 sound good? You know, the one across the street?"
"Nice...romantic restaurant. Been there a few times already on other dates."
"Perfect, I'll make a reservation then. See you soon!" You finished--excited for your long-awaited date.
Well, probably not for him. For you.
<*~*>
You entered the Dancing Crab restaurant and scanned the space, finding Stu at one of the tables, beaming.
You walked over and stuttered, "H-Hi, Stu. You look great."
You could have sworn you saw his cheeks redden a bit as he returned, "You too, Y/N."
He got up gracefully and bowed as he offered you (choose whatever flower you want).
"Wow, (...), my favourite flower! How did you know?" You grinned as you took the flowers gratefully.
"Magician's secret," Stu winked.
"Huh, mysterious and alluring, I see," You laughed, feeling that as time passed, it became easier and easier to talk to him.
The food was delicious at the restaurant; well, you knew it already, you'd been here a few times with the girls. But nothing could beat being here on a date with Stu, the boy you had crushed on for so long.
Finally, when you finished up, you decided to talk about what you had invited him here for in the first place.
"So...Stu..." You began, unsure if you could get through this without dying of embarrassment.
"Yeah, Y/N?" He asked. "What's up?"
"Okay, there's something I've been dying to tell you for the longest time, and I want to do it now. But I think the only way I can get through this is if you don't talk, if not I might just die of embarrassment. You probably already know what I'm going to say, probably heard this lots of times already, but I still want to let you know...I'm hopelessly, irrationally in love with you. When you're with other girls, it breaks my heart. I know you're what people call a playboy, and I know it seems unreasonable of me to request you to be mine and only mine, but...that's what I truly want. If you don't want that, you have to tell me no, and I can finally let go of the threads of hope I've been hanging onto for so long in my heart. But if you want that...I'll let you imagine what happens next." You gushed out, your cheeks redder than ever.
Stu was blushing too, seemingly shocked. When he finally opened his mouth, he said, "To tell you the truth, Y/N, I...think you're very special. I know you're special. And honestly, I'm sick of being a player. I don't wanna just play the game--I wanna win. And I think...I wanna win with you. So my answer is...yes, I want that."
And just like that, all your dreams and hopes were fulfilled. He pressed his lips against you, and the two of you just melted into the kiss...as if all your worries and troubles had melted away in that very moment. You had walked into the restaurant as Y/N and Stu, two singles looking for love. But now you walked out hand in hand, as Y/N and Stu...a couple that made everything seem possible.
