Claire, moved by his honesty, reaches out and touches his hand, and before either of them knows it, they’re kissing under the dim campus lights. It’s soft, tentative, and full of unspoken feelings.
But as soon as it happens, Claire pulls back, panic flooding her.
She’s not ready for this. Not after what she’s been through!
She mumbles an apology and hurries away, leaving Daniel standing alone, confused and frustrated.
