Michael ruffles her hair, "Don't let it get to you, BK. There are plenty of fish in the sea."Brooklynn rolls her eyes, but a smile tugs at the corners of her mouth. "Thanks, Michael," she says, meaning it. "So what do you want to do."

"Let's go grab some ice cream," he suggests, trying to lighten the mood. "Your paying of course."

Brooklynn laughs, swiping at her eyes. "Deal," she says, taking his offered hand. They walk to the small ice cream shop on the corner, the one that's been there since they were kids. The bell above the door jingles as they enter, and the sweet smell of waffle cones and sugar fills their

nostrils.

Inside, Michael orders a double scoop of Strawberry Poundcake, his go-to flavor. Brooklynn, on the other hand, opts for vanilla bean. She's always been a simple girl when it comes to desserts, preferring the comfort of familiarity. As they wait for their order, she notices the way the lights

reflect off Michael's dark hair, making it seem almost blue.

"Why the hell is your hair turning blue?" she blurts out, a laugh bubbling in her chest. Michael looks at her, a bewildered expression on his face before he feels the back of his head. His eyes

widen in surprise as he pulls his hand away to reveal a smear of blue gel.

"SOOO funny," he says, laughing so hard he snorts. "It's from my new shampoo. Didn't even realize it was coming out like that."
