I love you too...

I took my place as usual at the back of the cafe. The air was filled with early morning whispers. Mindlessly I was listening to the small talks that the customers made about the weather and the sky. They looked so excited making these small talks it intrigued me to know more. So, I looked out of the window to witness the same weather they were talking about. Yes it was rainy, a typical July morning. The street looked darker, the trees looked greener but there was nothing out of the ordinary. The rain was expected so was the dark sky as it was already announced yesterday on the almost broken 'Murphy' radio that I owned. But what wasn't expected were the following events.

......The moment we forgot we were just good friends

I moved my arm, her face went red again

         One more bus home

         Another silent weekend.......

Like I said earlier siting at the back I starred as the mahogany chairs set in the different parts of the cafe got occupied. The big mug of coffee sat silent as a rock infront of me letting the pale smoke escape it. I was waiting for something or for someone. I was waiting for an answer. As the old clock on the beige wall ticked away. I decided to fold the arms of my shirt to look more relaxed. Just then the jingling sound of the cafe door captivated my thoughts. I look up from my coffee and I see her. At first I could only see her warm chocolate brown hair. As she flicked away the strands, her heart shaped face appeared. She took a place right across the cafe. The waiter walked  over to her and I assume he asked what she wanted and as well as I know her I could also assume she ordered a banana nut muffin and a caramel latte.

......You said love was painted gold

But like all things growing old

The paint peels and slowly falls

          You already know......

After running my hands through my damp hair. I picked up the cup of coffee and started sipping on it and not for once did I move my gaze from her. But she didn't seeem to notice me or was she ignoring me. She was looking at an architecture magazine. I couldn't help but feel disappointed at the fact that a magazine on 'arrangement of bricks' was more interesting than me. I chuckled at the thought. The waiter soon arrived with my predicted banana nut muffin and caramel latte. As I took a long sip, so did she and that's when for the first time that very morning she looked at me. As she took a sip of her latte her lips formed into a smile. It was like she was trying to hide her smile behind the veil of a coffee mug. And that is when I knew the answer.

......Looking out the glass always sit together

We both know we could be someone better

But not with our heads like London weather......

I passed her a smile leaning back on my chair. I still didn't move my gaze. Her mere moves were amusing. The way she hid her smile, the way she nervously folded the pages of her magazine and finally the way she frowned after she realized that I knew. I couldn't help my chuckles. She, finally after collecting every ounce of coursge in her stood up. With the coffee in her hand she made her way across the little cafe towards me. I tried to act cool sipping the last of the coffee and puting the mug aside. But for some reason the smirk on my face never seemed to leave. Reaching my table she kept the coffee mug on the table and took a seat beside me. I looked at her as she was constantly tucking her side strands behind her ear and after a moment she looked at me. Her light blue orbs transparent.

"I love you too..." she said. Her peach lips turning into a smile and her cheeks a dark crimson. I finally got my answer.

......You said love was painted gold

But like all things growing old

The paint peels and slowly falls

         You already know......
