Lion his eyes slowly open and adjusting to the dim light filtering through the room the woman with fierce eyes who had been by his side earlier was no longer present the room felt still and quiet leaving him alone with his thoughts his mind raced back to the dream a voice an encounter with the God of Darkness the words spoken in that dark dream lingered, planting questions about his place in this unfamiliar world.
He sat up on the makeshift bed feeling the weight of his power armor as it creaked softly his strength had returned his wounds though still present had healed significantly during his rest but feel the stab wound that was on his chest
He rose from the bed step firm the ground beneath him unfamiliar yet stable.
Lion pushed the door open and stepped outside his eyes quickly scanning the surroundings.
The village before him was a mix of familiarity and alien strange it reminded him of the paradise worlds of Holy Terra before the endless wars that consumed it the mankind cradle home world of humanity birthplace
As Lion stepped further into the settlement he found himself in what seemed to be a simple self built village Small homes constructed with care but clearly with limited resources dotted the landscape the air was calm filled with the gentle sounds of village life families tending to crops children playing and the occasional clink of tools it was a world far removed from the technological of Terra and the war torn lands of Caliban.
But what truly captured his attention were the inhabitants as he walked through the village he noticed the Faunus humans with distinct animal traits much like those he had observed before their appearance was a mix of familiarity and something wholly unique a reminder that this world operated on its own set of rules.
A small child no older than five or six in terra years spotted him first The kid wide eyes grew even wider as they took in the sight of Lion his towering form clad in battle worn armor "Mommy, look! The green giant!"
the child exclaimed in awe pointing directly at him.
The mother, alarmed and slightly embarrassed, hurried over and pulled her child close, glancing nervously at Lion before hushing the child. "Don't point"
she whispered sternly, glancing up at Lion with a mixture of wariness and apology.
The kid's excitement quickly turned to guilt their shoulders slumping the child mumbled, looking down at the ground. "Sorry Mommy"
Lion paused his gaze softening as he took in the scene he hadn't meant to cause fear or discomfort but his imposing presence often had that effect on people especially those unaccustomed to warriors like him despite the mother clear discomfort the child curiosity was a reminder that not everyone saw him as a threat some still saw the awe-inspiring figure he had once been someone worth admiring not fearing.
He offered a subtle nod to the mother and child, a silent gesture of reassurance the mother hesitated for a moment, then gave a tight lipped smile pulling her child along as they moved away the child glanced back one more time eyes still filled with wonder.
As Lion observed them closely. They moved with purpose though there was an air of calm about them a sense of community and peace the village bustled with life but not in the chaotic manner of hive cities or agril worlds but this People carried out their daily tasks like those of Caliban after the great beast extermination a freedom this here is sign of it they are tending to gardens gathering in small groups and caring for livestock children played freely their laughter echoing through the village it was a world apart from the blood soaked battlefields and the dark treachery of Caliban
