Gabriel observed as Professor Oobleck energetically led the class, his eyes drifting to Jaune, who appeared to be dozing off.
Oobleck: Yes! Yes, prior to the Faunus Rights Revolution, more popularly known as the Faunus War
The professor's voice filled the room as he gestured dramatically to the map behind his desk.
Oobleck:Humankind was quite quite adamant about centralizing the Faunus population in Menagerie.
Gabriel watched as Oobleck pointed at the map, then seamlessly moved to take a sip of his coffee before reappearing in front of the desk.
Oobleck: Now! While this must feel like ancient history to many of you, it is imperative to remember that these are relatively recent events! Why, the repercussions of the uprising can still be seen to this day!
As Oobleck continued his animated lecture, Gabriel noticed Velvet and some other students raising their hands, indicating they had experienced discrimination.
Oobleck: Dreadful, simply dreadful! Remember, students, it is precisely this kind of ignorance that breeds violence!
Another sip of coffee punctuated his words.
Oobleck: I mean, I mean, I mean, just look at what happened to White Fang! Now, which one of you young scholars can tell me what many theorize to be the turning point in the third year of the war?
Gabriel saw Weiss's hand shoot up.
Oobleck: Yes?
Weiss: The battle at Fort Castle!
Oobleck: Precisely! And, who can tell me the advantage the Faunus had over General Lagune's forces?
As the professor continued, Cardin flicked a paper football at Jaune's head, jolting him awake.
Jaune: Hey!
Gabriel felt a pang of disappointment but also empathy for Jaune, recognizing his lack of training and understanding of the historical context.
Oobleck zoomed over to Jaune.
Oobleck: Mr. Arc! Finally contributing to class! This is excellent! Excellent! What is the answer?
Gabriel watched as Jaune found himself in another uncomfortable situation.
Jaune: Uhhhh... The answer... The advantage... that the Faunus...
His eyes darted behind Oobleck's focused face to Pyrrha, who subtly signaled the answer.
Jaune: ...had over that guy's stuff.
He saw Pyrrha motioning to her lips, prompting him to go for the most obvious answer.
Jaune: Uhh... Binoculars!
Despite his satisfaction with his response, the class erupted in laughter, and Oobleck took another sip of his coffee.
At the front of the class, Oobleck sipped his coffee while Pyrrha sighed and facepalmed, and Cardin pounded his fist on his desk with amusement.
Oobleck zoomed back behind his desk.
Oobleck: Very funny, Mr. Arc! Cardin! Perhaps you would care to share your thoughts on the subject?
Cardin: Well, I know it's a lot easier to train an animal than a soldier.
Gabriel is trying to understand why does Cardin hates fanus. No, it is more of something else as he is trying to understand him but hears Pyrrha and Blake
Pyrrha:You're not the most open-minded of individuals, are you, Cardin?
Cardin: What? You got a problem?
