In an unfamiliar bed, Seungkwan stirred from his sleep at the sound of his phone ringing. His sleepy eyes blinked a few times as he took in the room—one he had almost forgotten, though he used to play in it often as a child. Letting out a light yawn, he slowly realized that the ringing phone was what had woken him up—and it was still ringing.
In a hurry, he switched on the bedside lamp before reaching for his phone. Sitting up slowly, he leaned against the headboard and answered the call without even checking the caller ID, as if he had been expecting it all along.
"Are you there yet?" Seungkwan asked in a hoarse voice, not giving the caller a chance to speak first.
From the other side, Mingyu grinned.
"Yes, baby, we just landed," he answered. "Don't tell me I woke you up—you were already asleep, weren't you? It's midnight there, right? The sun just came up here," Mingyu added, hearing Seungkwan hum in response. "I'm sorry for disturbing your sleep..."
Seungkwan chuckled. "It's alright. I was the one who told you to call me as soon as you got to Los Angeles." He pouted, stroking his baby bump. "The babies already miss their Daddy..."
"I miss them too," Mingyu said softly before adding, "And I miss their Papa even more..."
Seungkwan grinned widely. "Miss you too, hubby," he said, suddenly feeling shy, his sleepiness fading as warmth spread through him.
"You don't miss me, Kwan? I'm really hurt," Seungcheol's voice suddenly came through the phone.
"Hyung!" Seungkwan chuckled, knowing how his brother was—he had probably snatched Mingyu's phone. "Of course, I miss you! You suddenly got yourself a vacation in LA and left me here..." he teased, barely holding back his laughter.
Seungcheol snorted. "Yeah... I suddenly have a three-day vacation, far away from my endless paperwork. Thanks to you," he said sarcastically.
"Ya! You told me you weren't busy to begin with. That's why I wanted you to go with Mingyu," Seungkwan pointed out. "Why are you complaining now?"
Seungcheol sighed loudly. "Maybe because you ambushed me with the twin news and left me no choice?"
"If that's the case, you should make up for it by being a good uncle to them and taking care of their Daddy while you're there. Understand?"
"So, you're basically asking me to babysit Mingyu?"
"Of course! What else? Besides, it's been a long time since you had a fun vacation abroad. Enjoy it, hyung!" Seungkwan laughed.
Seungcheol clicked his tongue. "I just came here for the wedding of someone I barely know. Maybe I won't have that much fun?"
"Hyung, don't you know LA girls are pretty hot? Maybe you'll find someone there," Seungkwan teased.
