Mingyu's large hand gripped Seungkwan's tightly as they stood before the grand double doors of Seungkwan's family home the next day. Whether they wanted to or not, they had to face them—at least to talk to Seungcheol and explain everything. Fortunately, it was the weekend, giving Mingyu a brief escape from work so they could come.

Seungkwan flinched slightly at the pressure on his hand.

"Are you feeling okay now?" Mingyu asked suddenly, his face slightly tense as he stared straight at the door.

Seungkwan frowned. "Yeah? Why do you ask?" he replied, confused.

Mingyu clicked his tongue. "I just thought maybe your nausea from this morning came back, and you'd want to throw up again. So maybe we should just head back home."

Seungkwan snorted, his face scrunching as he tried to hold back a laugh at Mingyu's unintentional joke. It was partly his fault for not yet telling Mingyu why he had thrown up his breakfast earlier. "I'm fine now, thank you. You saw me take my vitamins, right? That made me feel better. You don't need to use my nausea as an excuse to skip this," he chuckled.

"Relax... Why are you so tense?" Seungkwan asked softly, noticing the tension in his husband's expression.

Mingyu let out a deep sigh before turning to Seungkwan. "What if your brother kills me?"

Seungkwan laughed softly. "Then I'll go after you," he teased, lifting their joined hands to press a kiss to Mingyu's knuckles. "Just calm down. I'm here, hubby... Besides, Seungcheol hyung has never even scolded me before."

Mingyu shot him a side-eye. "You wouldn't be laughing if you saw his face yesterday."

Seungkwan grinned, reaching out with his free hand to stroke Mingyu's cheek, cooing at him playfully. "I'm sorry you had to go through that. But today, I'll protect you from Seungcheol hyung, okay?" He patted the pocket of his blazer smugly. "I even brought a weapon."

Mingyu scoffed before leaning in to give Seungkwan a quick kiss on the lips, finding his husband unbearably cute for saying something like that despite being two sizes smaller than him and Seungcheol.

Seungkwan scrunched his nose and pouted after the kiss. "What was that for?"

"For being my cute little angel," Mingyu replied smoothly, making Seungkwan flush pink. "Ah, but what's this weapon of yours? You still haven't told me."

Seungkwan hesitated, smiling nervously as he struggled to find the right words. But before he could answer, the front door suddenly swung open, making both of them turn in surprise.

"Seungkwan-ah, Mingyu! Since when have you two been standing there? Come inside already," a familiar voice called out warmly.

Mingyu frowned. "Mother? What are you doing here?" he asked, eyes narrowing at Hyorin.

Hyorin stepped aside, smiling. "I was having tea with Sohee when she got your call about visiting. So, of course, I stayed to see my favorite son-in-law."
