ANASTAISIAS POV

The sun hadn't fully risen when I was shaken awake by Anyas voice, the reminder that it was getting deeper into the months and colder. Her hands gripped onto my shoulders a little harder than usual.

"Stas! Wake up!" She hissed, her face hovering close to mine. Her big blue eyes were wide with worry, and I could hear the panic in her voice, despite her attempts to mask it.

"What?" I groaned, barely able to open my eyes. My body felt heavy, like I had been submerged in water all night. I tried to push myself up, but the pounding in my head made everything spin.

"Are you okay? You have been tossing and turning ever since I got back this morning." She said, her grip loosening but her gaze still intense. "I'm sorry for not coming back last night, I stayed with Tobias and Blaise and I didn't want to come back and wake you."

I sat up slowly, rubbing my temples. Flashes of the night before came back to me, but they felt...distorted. Fragmented. Like pieces of a puzzle, I couldn't quite piece together. I couldn't remember much - just the vague sensation of being somewhere cold, the pressure of something tight around my wrists, and a dull pain in my arm. This all felt so real. I glanced down instinctively, pulling up my sleeve and froze

There on my forearm, was a faint scar. It looked as though it had been hastily healed, but the outline of something twisted; something dark remained.

"I don't remember." I replied, dropping my arm quickly before Anya could notice. "It probably was just a bad dream." Was I sleep walking again? Does this have to do with the letter? I wanted to tell Anya so badly, the one person who knew everything about me - but what if her knowing does better worse than good.

Anya narrowed her eyes, clearly not convinced. "Are you sure? You looked...I don't know." She sighed. "It didn't seem like a nightmare." She leaned in closer, lowering her voice. "You were saying stuff Stas, you mentioned your mother and father. And he who shall not be named."

"What?" I interrupted, a chill running down my spine at the mention of their names. "That can't be right."

"I'm telling you Stas, it was freaky." Anya continued, sitting on the edge of my bed now, her playful sass from the night before completely gone. "You were thrashing around, and I didn't know what to do. I feel so guilty for not coming back during the night."

I shook my head, trying to clear the fog that clung to my thoughts. "It's fine Anya, really. Just a weird dream." I forced a weak smile, hoping it would convince her that I am okay. "I'm fine now."

But I wasn't fine. The scar on my arm said otherwise, and no matter how hard I tried to push it out of my mind, a gnawing sense of dread began to creep into the corners of my thoughts.
