Chapter Ten
October 21, 2024
One evening, after a particularly inspiring day, Reeva decided to share a new track with Jacob.
She could hardly contain her excitement as she recorded a voice message, pouring her heart into the melody. "Hey, Jacob! I just finished a new song, and I can't wait for you to hear it. It's about... well, everything!"
As she sent it, a wave of exhilaration washed over her. It felt good to be vulnerable, to share a piece of herself with someone who made her heart race.
Jacob replied quickly, his enthusiasm evident. "Can't wait! You're so talented, Reeva. I'm lucky to know you."
His words sent warmth through her, solidifying her feelings for him. Maybe Ryan was right; perhaps this was something worth exploring.
The next day, as Reeva wrapped up a late-night session, she found herself lost in thought about Jacob. She couldn't help but wonder what it would be like when he returned to New York.
Would they pick up where they left off? Would their connection deepen?
"Earth to Reeva!" Ryan's voice broke through her reverie. "You've been zoning out for the past ten minutes. You okay?"
She shook her head, laughter bubbling up. "Just thinking about Jacob. I guess he's been on my mind a lot lately."
Ryan grinned. "It shows. You've got that lovesick glow again. It's kinda cute."
"Shut up," Reeva said, playfully shoving his shoulder. "It's just nice to feel excited about someone for once."
"Just remember to enjoy the ride," Ryan replied, his expression shifting to one of sincerity. "You deserve it, Reeva."
With a soft smile, Reeva nodded, feeling grateful for his support. She returned to the booth, ready to pour her heart into the music once more. As the track played, she let her voice rise and fall, each note resonating with the emotions swirling inside her.
In the days that followed, as she continued to record, Reeva found a new rhythm both in her music and in her feelings for Jacob.
The uncertainty that had initially clouded her heart began to lift, replaced by a sense of possibility. She learned to embrace the vulnerability that came with opening herself up to someone new.
Finally, the day arrived when Jacob was set to return to New York. Reeva's excitement bubbled over as she prepared for their reunion.
She spent hours choosing the perfect outfit, wanting to look and feel her best. As she stepped out of her apartment, anticipation thrumming in her veins, she couldn't help but smile at the thought of seeing him again.
When they finally met, the moment felt electric. Jacob's eyes lit up as he saw her, and for a heartbeat, everything else faded away. It was just the two of them, and in that moment, Reeva felt as if they were exactly where they were meant to be.
"Hey, gorgeous," he said, his voice low and warm.
"Hey yourself," she replied, feeling her cheeks flush.
As they spent time together, laughter and conversation flowed easily, the chemistry between them undeniable. They wandered through the city, sharing stories and dreams, their connection deepening with each passing moment.
Reeva realized that she was no longer just scared of what could happen; she was excited for the journey ahead. Jacob was more than a fleeting romance; he was someone who inspired her in ways she hadn't expected.
As they explored New York together, she couldn't help but feel that this was just the beginning of something beautiful.
