Chapter 22

JAMS POV

Monday morning was painful. My mom had somehow found out about Justin's little visit so I was grounded for the rest of the month. That doesn't really make sense seeing as I've already been grounded for the year, but whatever. She still found out and screamed at me all the same.

Justin ended up leaving about an hour later once he'd finished his crying. He stumbled home, I don't know if he found his way or not.

Oh well, not my problem.

I saw Allie in the parking lot grabbing her books from the back of her car before slamming the door. She fixed her hair and began walking over to me with a smile.

"Guess what?" She squealed as she got closer.

"What?"

"Nick asked me out of a date!" She exclaimed, and then did a weird happy dance.

I found myself rolling my eyes.

"Oh be happy for me Jamelia! Would you?"

"I am!" I protested. "I just don't think he's good enough for you, that's all."

I completely lied. She's been fantasizing over him since forever and all he's does is ignore her. What's so different now?

"You don't think anyone is good enough for me." She stated with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh be quiet, let's just go inside..."

We both turned in unison and found ourselves stopping at the same time. I think we both spotted the same thing.

Hailey walked past wearing a black baggy hood pulled over her head and sweat pants.

She NEVER dressed like that before.

"Do you think she's okay?" I asked Al, a full sense of worry washed over me.

Allie continued to follow Hailey with her eyes before shrugging.

"She'll be fine."

And with that Allie began walking into school. I couldn't help but stay in my place and watch Hailey even further, something was definitely up.

"Al, wait up!" I called as I ran after her.

"You know what your problem is Jam? You worry too much."

She's probably right. Hailey might just be having a lazy day or FINALLY given up with her act of being the 'school slut. I don't even know anymore.
