Hailey's parent allowed me to stay the night in the hospital room with Hailey. They both had to work in the morning and they couldn't get any time off. That may sound bad but it worked out for me, it gave me the excuse to stay with Hailey. My mom didn't seem to mind either, she offered to stay but I could see she was tired.

I laid on the couch opposite Hailey's bed. She was still connected to all the machines which would make loud beeping noises every couple of seconds; I don't even know how she managed to fall asleep. Instead of closing my eyes, I laid there staring at the ceiling thinking about the past few days- they have been crazy.

I was just glad that Hailey was ok. I believed her when she said she didn't mean to almost kill herself the second time, I could tell by the desperate tone in her voice.

I looked over at the bed when I heard a sniffle. It got louder making me sit up from the couch, running my hand through my messy hair. I checked the time.

3:24 am

I rubbed the sleep out of my eye as I heard another sniff. It sounded like Hailey was crying. Standing up from the couch I made my way over her, trying my hardest not to wake her up.

I walked round to the side she was facing to see her eyes open.

"Hailey?" I whispered delicately. She looked up at me with bloodshot eyes. I quickly rushed over to her crouching down to eye level. "What's wrong?" I asked wiping a tear from her eye.

"Lay with me Justin." She whispered. "I need somebody."

Without any thought, I did as she said. She moved over allowing me room to slot in next to her. As I pulled the cover back over us she snuggled into my chest. I rubbed her back in an attempt to soothe her.

"You gonna tell me what's wrong Hails?" I asked licking my lips.

"Life is wrong Justin."

"Yeah." I chuckled. "Anything specific about life?"

I felt her nod.

"You going to tell me?" I asked.

She shrugged making me let out a long sigh.

"Hailey please talk to me, you can trust me. Whatever you tell me, I'll believe because I trust you."

"I've got no one Justin." She stated leaning away from my body to look up at me. "apart from you." She scoffed. "I don't even understand why you want to be anywhere near me, I mean look at me, I'm a fuck up, my hand is connected to some wire because I accidently almost committed suicide. Why are you still here? I wouldn't be!"

"Yeah you would." I argued. "Remember after the fight with Jason? You stayed with me then, even though I was bleeding from my face and we weren't even talking much. The reason I stay is because I love you and I was too dumb to realise it before."

It was her turn to let out a sigh. She leaned back into my chest.

"I'm not surprised Allie and Jam hate me though." She muttered.

"They don't hate you."

"They do."

"They don't."

"Do."

"Hails." I laughed kissing her head. "They don't hate you, ok? Allie is just being a dick and Jam; well she still cares about you just as much as I do."

"She hasn't spoken to me for over a month."

"But she's spoken to me."

"Why would she speak to you?" Hailey frowned.
