Over the next few weeks, Mikha and Aiah found themselves bumping into each other more frequently, as if fate was pulling them together. At first, these encounters seemed purely coincidental—a fleeting smile exchanged at an event, or a wave from across the street. But as time passed, they realized there was something deeper at play. Their random meetings soon became a regular occurrence. Mikha, who used to be constantly surrounded by the hustle and bustle of her celebrity life, began to look forward to these quiet moments with Aiah.
One afternoon, habang naglalakad si Mikha pagkatapos ng isang taping, nadaanan niya ulit si Aiah, this time at a park. She was busy with a photoshoot, capturing the golden hour glow on her model's face. Napansin agad ni Mikha si Aiah, ang mga mata nitong seryosong naka-focus sa camera, her brow slightly furrowed as she adjusted the lens. There was something about watching her work that intrigued Mikha. This was the side of Aiah that was confident and passionate—very different from the shy girl she met at the café.
Nag-aalangan pa si Mikha kung lalapit ba siya o hindi, pero bago pa siya makapag-isip ng maayos, napansin na siya ni Aiah. Tumayo si Aiah, waving at her with a smile that made Mikha's heart skip a beat.
"Mikhaela! What a surprise! What brings you here?" tanong ni Aiah habang binababa ang camera at naglalakad papalapit kay Mikha.
"Oh, uh... wala lang. I was just in the area, tapos nadaanan kita." sagot ni Mikha, slightly embarrassed. She wasn't used to feeling nervous around people, pero iba ang dating ni Aiah.
"Well, I'm almost done here. Want to grab a coffee after this?" Aiah offered, her tone casual but there was a hint of excitement in her voice.
Mikha's face brightened. "Sure, that sounds good. I could use a break from everything."
After finishing up the shoot, they found a cozy café nearby, one of those small, hidden spots na hindi masyadong pinupuntahan ng mga tao. It was perfect for them, quiet and private. They settled into a corner table, the warm sunlight filtering through the large windows, creating a serene atmosphere.
As they sat down, Mikha couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. Here, with Aiah, she didn't have to perform, didn't have to be the glamorous star that everyone expected her to be. She could just be Mikhaela.
"Alam mo?" Mikha started, stirring her iced coffee with a straw. "Sometimes, I feel like I'm not myself anymore. Parang... everyone sees this version of me that's always put together, always perfect. But it's exhausting."
Aiah looked at her, her expression soft with understanding. "That must be really tough. Laging may expectations sa'yo, 'di ba? Like you have to be this image that the world wants to see."
Mikha nodded. "Exactly. Parang... ang dami kong kasama araw-araw, pero minsan, sobrang lonely pa rin. No one really sees the real me."
There was a moment of silence as Aiah took in what Mikha said. She could feel the weight of those words. In that quiet café, Mikhaela wasn't the superstar that everyone adored—she was just a girl, trying to find a way to balance her career and her true self.
"I get that, in some way." Aiah replied thoughtfully. "In photography, ang dami ring competition. You want to stand out, pero at the same time, hindi mo rin maiiwasan yung mga self-doubts. Parang lagi kang may fear na baka hindi ka enough."
Mikha smiled, feeling a strange sense of comfort. It was rare for her to open up like this, but Aiah had a way of making her feel safe. "You know what's funny?" Mikha said, her smile growing wider. "You're the first person in a long time who makes me feel like it's okay to just be me."
Aiah blushed slightly at the compliment, not knowing how to respond. "I think... it's because you deserve to have someone who sees the real you. And it's okay to be vulnerable, Mikha."
