(fair warning: this is one of those chapters where i'm just going ASDFGHJKL about my fics/OCs, so feel free to ignore this chapter if you like lmao)
francesca vestri from my djats fic is portrayed by monica barbaro, and her character's early inspirations for music came from various singers including joan baez. so it's a real twist of fate that monica has ended up playing joanbaezin the upcoming bob dylan biopic!! (when i found out the news about a year ago i was mindblown). i also modelled francesca's early style and look from joan in the 1960s, so you can understand me freaking out a bit...
then it got even more exciting because will harrison (aka graham dunne, francesca's love interest) IS ALSO IN THE MOVIE!! i love when this kinds of stuff happens 💃
anyway, the official trailer came out, and i need to blabber about it somewhere. i took some screenshots of some stills with monica as joan because they just SCREAM francesca to me:

the first two shots could literally be francesca when she goes to new york in the autumn/winter of 1968! the hair, the style, the guitar, everything is exactly how i imagined it thanks to the joan baez inspiration in the first place, EEK—
and then i was pleased to see will harrison as bob neuwirth show up once or twice, and he even said a line!

anyway, fangirling over frangraham aside, the movie looks pretty good and i have to say i think they've done a good job with the casting. not just timothée as bob, but in the brief bit with monica, i think she's got joan's speaking voice down. don't know if i will see it in the cinema, but otherwise i'll perhaps be watching it when it releases digitally later on 🥳
