"Tanjiro Kamado.... Y/n L/n...... I accept you as my students!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First person POV:
"There are a few hundred members...of the Demon Slayer Corps. The organization isn't officially recognized by the government. But it has existed since days of old and still hunts demons today. However, the identity of the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps...is shrouded in mystery."
That's what Urokodaki told us about the demon slayer corps. Is kinda crazy to be honest that the demon slayer corps was around for a long time but the government doesn't know about it.
"Demons. Staple food: Humans. They kill humans and eat them. It is unclear when or where they first appeared. They have impressive physical abilities and their wounds heal quickly. They can reconnect severed flesh and grow new limbs. Some demons can change form. Others possess strange powers. The only ways to kill them are by exposing them to sunlight or by cutting off their heads with a special sword.
The demon slayer corps fights demons face-to-face. They are human, so their wounds heal slowly and lost limbs do not return. Nontheless, they fight demons in order to protect ordinary people. I am a trainer. Just like it sounds, I train swordsmen. There are many trainer. In different places, they use various training methods. In order to join the demon slayer corps, you must survive the final selection at Mount Fujikasane. I decide whether you may attempt final selection." That's what Urokodaki told us next. Demons sound scary, but I'm sure Rina and Sora would never even harm a fly.
Again today, we descended the mountain. Me and Tanjiro promised each other that we would train our hardest so that we won't die during final selection.
"Rocks on your left!" I yell. We decided that we would call out the traps for each other when we couldn't sense it out.
"Thanks! Log coming on your right!" Tanjiro yelled back. We sorta became like best buddies now. We always had each other's backs. I'm happy I met a guy like Tanjiro.
It seems we've been growing stronger. We have been getting better at avoiding the traps. My sense of auras has grown stronger, and I can now detect hidden traps more easily.
But, the traps are getting more and more deadlier. It's like he really wants to kill us. Once, Tanjiro accidentally set off a tripwire, but I couldn't detect it in time, and Tanjiro nearly got stabbed in the head with knives! And when he stepped back, he nearly fell into a pit that also had knives at the bottom of it! He sprawled out his arms to save himself just in time.
Several days later:
Today, we went down the mountain with a katana. It really gets in the way, so carrying it kept getting us caught in a lot of traps.
When we were running down the mountain, I got caught in a trap that had me upside down hanging from my leg. It was so embarrassing! Urokodaki was there too to make it worse! My face was beet red on the rest of the way down.
Another several days later:
Today, we practiced swinging the sword. I say 'today,' but lately I do this everyday. After descending the mountain, I swing the sword so much I feel like my arms might fall off. The first thing Urokodaki taught me was that katanas break easily.
It's strong against force lengthwise but weak against force from the side. With a katana... you must attack straight ahead. When you swing a katana...the direction of the blade and the direction of the force you apply must be exactly the same.
