"All we have to do is wait for you to split your boulder!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First Person POV:
Tanjiro seemed to be struggling a lot. So, me being me, I obviously helped him. But, every time I try to teach him something through words, he always dazes off. I wonder what he's thinking about.
Tanjiro tried dueling Sabito once again, but he failed. But, I swear, He was literally so close to beating Sabito! At least he's making progress!
Another six months passed. Until one day.... Tanjiro went face-to-face with Sabito. This time, he held a real sword. Just like he had done with me. I could remember the silver color of the blade glistening in the moonlight over the branches of trees.
"After half a year...You've finally got the face of a man." Sabito said, while removing the sword from his scabbard, as Tanjiro already had his out, in a stance, ready for battle.
"Today, I will win." Tanjiro had his eyebrows scrunched up in determination, confidence in his voice. They ran at each other fast, but I could track them.
The battle was over very quickly, just as my battle had gone. It was as if history repeated itself, as Sabito's mask fell into two, a serene smile on his face with the sad, proud, reassuring expression again.
Tanjiro widened his eyes, as he had never seen Sabito's face before. Honestly, I was also surprised when I first saw Sabito's smile and face too.
"Win, Tanjiro, Y/n.....Against them too." Makomo said, while she was standing up on my already cut boulder. Makomo's smile never faded, as she started dissipating into the fog. Sabito already almost gone, his smile still there even as he has faded as well.
Just like what had happened to me, after the fog passed over Tanjiro's face, what was standing there was not Sabito....But it was his boulder.
I think the reason I beat Sabito first is because I learned to sense an "opening thread", and it's all thanks to my training with Makomo. Whenever I'm fighting someone, and I find that aura, I see the thread.
It runs from my blade to a spot on my opponent, and it goes taut the moment I see it. Guided by the thread, my blade cuts into it. It was the main reason I won.
I stood up from my position and ran towards Tanjiro with the biggest grin I had. He had finally cut his boulder, and we can go to Final Selection and become demon slayers!
I quite literally knocked him off of his standing position, as he and I fell to the ground with a thud.
"I did not intend to send you to Final Selection. I had no wish to see more children die. I didn't think you would split that boulder...But you did well."
Wait, Huh?! Where did he come from?! I quickly jump up from Tanjiro, but relax when I realize it is Urokodaki. Tanjiro also stood up, and Urokodaki then put his hand on our heads. That was when I realized what he meant. All the children he had taught, never made it past Final Selection.
I widened my eyes, but softened them. I had to make it out alive, for Rina, for Sora, for Nezuko!
"Tanjiro...Y/n...You....Are amazing children." He said, then he pulled us in for a hug. It was the warmest thing I have experienced since my family's death. I started to cry. Urokodaki reminded me so much of my father. Caring. Kind. Warm.
"Go to Final Selection.....But be sure to return alive. Your siblings and I are here waiting."
After Tanjiro and I calmed down from our crying, Urokodaki took us all inside his house. He told us to go to our rooms, and clean up while he prepares supper.
