“Cindy can we leave now?” Chase asked
“yeah let’s go…” Cindy said
They got into their car and Chase started driving. The whole ride was a pin drop silence. Cindy was in her thoughts.
“Hey! What happened? Are you not happy after meeting her?” Chase asked
“umm yes I’m happy but something was strange.” Cindy said
“what was strange?” Chase asked
“umm did you saw when Annie took her father name she hurriedly look at her father and it felt like she regret saying dad. And also when I told her that I love her she cried and when I asked why was she crying she was about to say something but her father interrupted and then her father did something at the back of her neck and then he told her to leave. You know what when I hugged her for the first time I felt something strange at that time only…I don’t know what is it but it feels like something is wrong.” Cindy said
“umm…yeah…you are right I did feel the same…to be honest.” Chase said
“I need to find out what’s wrong” Cindy said.
“and here our detective Cindy is back” Chase said
And they both started laughing.
After some time they reached there home. Cindy went to her home and took a bath. After taking bath she took a nap.
At night
“So Cindy how’s Annie?” Carl asked
“ she is good…but brother something is strange.” Cindy said
“what?” Carl asked
Cindy told everything she noticed to Carl.
“ Ohh if that’s what you think. Then go ahead I’m with you.” Carl said
“ really brother…you are the best…I’m going to find out the truth but right now let me sleep.” Cindy said
She went to her room and slept.
Next day at 3pm
Cindy took out the book. She showed it to her brother Carl.
“brother do you know which language is this?” Cindy asked
“umm let me check….” Carl said(Flipping pages)
“I…. don’t think I know this language…Kevin do you know?” Carl said while handing the book to Kevin
“no brother I don’t know…” Kevin said.
“ahhh!! Nobody knows how will I find out the truth…” Cindy said being all disappointed
“ don’t worry Cindy we will find out. As long as we our together , we can solve all our problems.” Kevin said
“yes Cindy Kevin is right… we will find it out together. Don’t worry” Carl said
“ yes ofcourse 3CK is better than any form of detective.” Chase said
“Now what’s 3CK?” all three of them asked
“Carl Cindy Chase Kevin…3CK…” Chase said
Everybody started laughing.
“3CK yeah….hahhahah” Cindy said laughingly
After almost 2 days:
Cindy visited Annie’s house again. She was in Annie’s room playing with her doll.
“I need to check here if I find something.” Cindy’s thought
“umm Annie can you get me something to drink. I’m feeling thirsty.” Cindy said
“yes sisi” Annie said and left.
Cindy got up hurriedly and opened the cupboard. She was looking into the cupboard. But she didn’t find anything. She opened the drawer of the cupboard. She saw there were Annie’s photos. She picked them one by one. She was looking at the photos just then
“Sisi?” Annie standing near the door said
“Annie I was just…….” Cindy wasn’t able to understand what to say
Annie came near her.
“sisi you wanted to see my pictures?” Annie asked all excited
“Oh yeah yeah I wanted to know how cute you were when you were small” Cindy said
“ let’s see them together.. well here’s your juice.” Annie said while stretching her arms towards Cindy to give the juice.
Cindy saw something on her hand.
“ Annie….what is this? Come here.” Cindy said while taking Annie to bed and made her sit.
“ it’s nothing sisi…” Annie said (a little worried)
Cindy roll up her sleeves and saw there were marks like she was beaten up. Cindy got worried and tears formed in her eyes.
“Sisi please don’t tell this to anyone. If they’ll get to know about it they are going to beat me again. Please sisi.” Annie said
“ Annie but who did this to you….?” Cindy asked
“ sisi….” Annie was hesitating
“ tell me Annie you called me sisi…will you not tell your sisi.? Don’t you love your sisi?” Cindy said
“Sisi…I do Love you but he will beat me again” Annie said
“Is it your father?” Cindy asked
“yes sisi” Annie said and started crying.
“ Annie baby stop crying. Don’t worry I will not let anything happen to you from now on” Cindy said
“ Sisi do you know..that place when that lady was giving me shocks. That place was way better than this place. I was happy even after that pain. That pain was temporary and that lady used to give me my favourite foods and also she used to take me out. I thanked you that day because my father told me to do so otherwise he would have beaten me. And still after you left he beaten me just because I called him dad.” Annie said with a sad smile
“what? He is your dad and he has beaten you just for calling him dad. But why ?” Cindy asked
“ Sisi I’m not allowed to call him dad. I call him sir.” Annie said
“Sir? But why?” Cindy asked
“I don’t know maybe he just don’t like it.” Annie said
“okay fine now you’ll come with me to my home. I’ll talk to him” Cindy said
“he will not allow.” Annie said with a sigh
“ don’t worry about that. I’ll handle it.” Cindy said
“really sisi thank you so much. I love you “ Annie said
“now let’s see your photos.” Cindy said
Annie was showing her photo to Cindy one by one.
“Annie!” her dad shouted while coming to her room but then he lowered his voice after he saw Cindy there.
As soon as she heard her father’s voice, all the photos fall from her hand.
“did you eat something my daughter” her dad said sweetly
“Yeah…si….” Annie said all scared and then her father left.
Cindy looked at the photos that were lying on the floor. She saw there was a letter drawn at the back of each photo. And she saw the letter was ‘D’.
She was thinking whether she should ask about it or not. She took one of her photo and kept inside her purse.
“Annie I’m going to talk to your father till then pack your bags.” Cindy said
“ah…oh…okay sisi.” Annie said
Cindy went downstairs to talk to his father.
“ excuse me Mr. Ken I want to talk to you about Annie.” Cindy said
“umm..yeah” Annie’s father said uncomfortably
“ I want to take Annie with me to my home. I want her to spend some more time with me. As you can she loves playing with me. And you might not know but she is still in trauma of that incident. She’ll be back soon. Take it as she is going out for vacations. I need your permission. I know you will not say no because you are a great father who would like to see her daughters happy.. right?” Cindy said
“Umm…” her father wasn’t able to say something. After almost 5-6 minutes he opened his mouth to say something.
“Okay fine…you can….ta…ke…her….wi..t..h….you..rself…” her dad said
It felt like he was being forced to say these words. But Cindy’s words were convincing too. She is doing this because she wants Annie to be safe, free from any kind of harm she’s been facing and also the more she is trying to find the truth she find something which was unexpected.
“Thank you so much Mr. Ken” Cindy said
Cindy got back to Annie’s room and saw Annie was perfectly ready to leave the place. So she took her belongings and took her downstairs
Annie’s dad saw Annie going with Cindy. It seems like he was boiling in anger. But he was showing it on her face. He came near Annie and bent down to Annie’s level
“ Don’t misbehave Annie.” Her dad said while holding her arm tightly
“she will not. She is a good girl” Cindy said while taking her away
She made Annie sit in the car and the driver took them to the palace.
Cindy was in her thoughts. And Annie fall sleep on Cindy’s laps.
“how can a dad do these things to her own child? This little soul has gone through a lot. I’m not going to let anything happen to her. I’m going to protect her at all cost. Umm well why there was a letter on her pictures….is there any connection?” Cindy’s thoughts
