The trees blow with the wind and the clouds begin to part, letting the moon shine through and down upon the forest. Tigerblood and the others emerge from the forest and into the four trees. "What took you so long?" A cat said from on top of the meeting rock.
"I'm glad to see you too beautiful~" Tigerblood grins as she rolls her eyes.
Tigerblood and the black she-cat touch noses to each other. "Yuck," Splashpaw gagged "Find somewhere else to love each other." The sound of a bush gently rustling causes Frostmoon to sigh. "You can come out Jackalclaw, you're not sneaky in the slightest."
"Oh c'mon, I'm sneakier than you Mr. No Talkie talk," Jackalclaw laughed like a hyena.
"Who are these two runts?" The she-cat asked.
"Oh right, meet...uh... never asked their names" Tigerblood said.
"My name is-" Azalea got cut off before he could finish his sentence.
"Welp I'll just give some, how about Daypaw and Nightpaw?" Tigerblood said, pointing to the two kittypets.
"I like 'em, they look like night and day anyways," Splashpaw said.
"Now let's get those collars of you, Onyxbear would you like to do the honors?" Splashpaw said.
"Gladly, hold still, you don't want me to miss." Oynxbear unsheathed his claws, walking towards the both of them.
"You first." He said, pointing at Leafie.
"Uh ok," She tried her best to stay still, shutting her eyes tightly for good measure.
In a swift movement a soft thud came from the collar as it fell to the ground, she picked it back up and reminisced on all the times she played with her twolegs, ate her slightly appetizing cat food, talked with Cinnamon which was basically their second mother. All of that's gone now as she hesitantly tossed it to the side.
"There you go, doesn't your neck feel better now?" Onyxbear patted her head. "Now you're up, let's get that thing off you-"
"No thanks." Azalea said, clutching his bandana.
"Oh don't be weird, you don't see any of us wearing one do you?" Onyxbear persuaded
"I don't care, I'm not taking it off!" Azalea said stubbornly.
"Then you won't have to, I'll take it off for you," Onyxbear said, getting ready to pounce on Azalea.
"Let him have it, he'll take it off when he wants to." Tigerblood walked past them while yawning.
Onyxbear huffed "Whatever, his choice". Azalea sat in thought thinking about the life he knew was being thrown away for a better one, he looked to his sister who looked uneasy of her situation.
In that moment he had remembered something but rather someone, the gray and white she-cat that had he awoke two days ago after helping Brightpaw escape. He felt a little bit of fear in him when he thought about that cat that had attacked him. He shook his head; throwing those thoughts from his head and thought back to the gray she-cat.
"Hey Tigerblood! You don't mind if I make a detour myself?" Daypaw asked meekly.
"Yea sure, just make it back before I finish my nap." tigerblood said, lying down on the ground and closing his eyes.
"You're going to sleep, shouldn't we get going instead of waiting." Frostmoon said in a raspy tone getting no response from Tigerblood.
"If he wants to sleep and not leave now, then he can sleep if he wants to." Oynxbear protested at Frostmoon's obvious annoyance, as she began to curl up beside her mate.
Nightpaw quietly wandered to her brother's side "Where are you going."
"To see someone..." Daypaw said walking away.
"I'm coming with you, I don't trust them." Nightpaw said moving to Daypaw's side once more.
The two now apprentices walked through the forest in silence before Daypaw spoke. "Why did you choose to come with me?" Daypaw said keeping his eyes straight ahead.
"...I didn't want you to leave me behind and the truth is being stuck inside all day is boring, I wanted something to do outside of our home, but I was too scared of the forest from the rumors i've heard to want to step foot outside the fence." Nightpaw meowed nervously and she flinched at almost every sound she heard.
"Well you're beyond the fence now..." Daywither said.
"Yea and I'm still terrified," Nightpaw chuckled awkwardly.
Daypaw stopped moving and looked around. "Did you hear that?"
"Hear what, the crickets?" Nightpaw sat still and began listening, she soon heard giggling and laughter. The two look at each other then slowly creep their way to the sounds. Just over some bushes, a fox and a cat were prancing and dashing through the grass, scaring fireflies into flight away into the air.
"That's her..." Daypaw went out into the grass, startling Rusty and Ashpaw causing them to get startled by the extra set of noise coming from behind them.
"Wait... aren't you that cat that was bleeding all over the place?" Ashpaw says still with her back arched and hair standing on their ends.
"Yea thats me..." Daypaw shook his head while still approaching.
"What was your name again... I think it was-" Ashpaw said, trying to recall the tom's name but was interrupted by Rusty.
"It was Azalea right?" Rushty shouted but sounded unsure by his statement.
"I...i go by Daypaw now," Daypaw said, coming to a stop where he stood.
"You joined a clan, how? No matter how friendly a clan is towards kittypets, they could never join one!" Ashpaw stated, confused by his words.
"Well I'm not a part of a clan or whatever, but me and my sister met some cats and they gave us our new names!" Daypaw meowed proudly of his new name, his almost serious and focused deminor fading seemingly into the wind.
"A group of cats... that must mean that there are loners in the forest," Ashpaw's face quickly turned worried.
"I guess, it's just me, my sister, Jackalclaw, Onyxbear, Frostmoon, and Tigerblood, '' Daypaw says as if he was trying to brag about making new friends.
Ashpaw's mouth almost dropped at Daypaw's words. "W-what were those last two names again..."
"Frostmoon and Tigerblood, what about them?" Daypaw titles his head in confusion.
"Frostmoon... went rouge, and Tiger Blood too," Ashpaw mutters to herself, thinking about how bad the situation could be.
Daypaw and Rusty looked at each other in confusion, Ashpaw looked to Daypaw to speak but she couldn't find the words to do so. The sound of a bush rustling causes everyone to turn their heads towards the noise.
Nightpaw's head could be seen poking halfway out the bush, she quickly pokes her head back into the bush but jumps out immediately looking startled. Another head pops out of the bush, this time it was Jackalclaw.
"Tigerblood said it's time hop like a hare, y'all better get moving before he leaves you two behind!" Jackalclaw disappears crackling at the joke he made, with his laugh trailing off into the distance.
"I gotta go... ill be back, i dont know when but... i promise i wil though!" Daypaw said turing and moving towards the shrubbery to leave.
"O-okay be careful out there!" Ashpaw shouted out to Daypaw as him and his sister leaped into the bushes and disappearing into the forest.
