Brightpaw awoke in the apprentice den, the den was quiet. Applepaw and Flamepaw were huddled close to each other. Brightpaw stood up and stretched causing Flamepaw to open his eyes and glare at her.

"What, I can't wake up and stretch?" Brightpaw asked, annoyed.

Flamepaw scoffed trying to get up, only to stop and turn to the sleeping tom laying on him.

Applepaw lay breathing softly. "Aw, you two look cute together" Brightpaw snickers.

Flamepaw turns to brightpaw. "Shut up mouse-brain!" Flamepaw shouts waking up Applepaw.

Applepaw sat up without saying a word looking at Brightpaw and then at Flamepaw who stared back in silence. For a minute Applepaw was confused only to realize how close he had been lying to Flamepaw before standing up and blushing.

"S-sorry, I didn't realize I rolled over into your nest," Applepaw said, dipping his head in embarrassment.

Brightpaw padded out of the den laughing. She stood outside and observed her clanmates going on with their busy life. She saw Berrypaw and Fireclaw walk back into camp with fresh-kill, dropping it into the fresh-kill pile.

Brightpaw turned to the high rock to see Lilystar and Rainfur staring at her only to look away and begin to whisper. To make things worse Lilystar looked at Brightpaw once again.

"Brightpaw, I need to speak with you," Lilystar said, causing some cats to look at Brightpaw.

Brightpaw's heart dropped as she walked to the leader's den. Now alone with the Thunderclan medicine cat and the leader Brightpaw sat looking at Lilystar. The dark she-cat then spoke.

"I know you went to the moonstone last night, am I correct?" Lilystar said with a stern tone.

"Yes lilystar, I apologize for the events of last night," Brightpaw said, dipping her head low to the ground.

"What did you see?" Lilystar meowed, looking down at Brightpaw.

Brightpaw quickly sat upright looking at Lilystar and then to Rainfur.

"Well, what did you see?" lilystar demanded sternly, causing Brightpaw to jump.

"I saw my mother..." Brightpaw said nervously.

Lilystar nods before talking again. "It's rare that a cat can have a special connection to StarClan outside medicine cats and leaders". Brightpaw was surprised but showed no sign of excitement.

Lilystar continued "I'll be taking you back to the moonstone tonight, but for now, you're free to go through your day," The black she-cat said.

Brightpaw stood up and left the leader's den and before rounding the corner she heard Lilystar speak to Rainfur.

"What did you hear them say?" lilystar said, waiting for Rainfur's response.

"It was a prophecy... they said The silverpelt will lose its stars, and the forest will be consumed in darkness, but the one who shines above the rest will light the path and lead others to asylum, but they will not be alone, the darkness hides allies and foes along the path," Rainfur said reciting the message from StarClan word from word.

Brightpaw stood close to the den before quickly walking away as Rainfur emerged from the den.

Brightpaw made her way to the warrior's den looking for Berrymoon.

"Berrymoon are you here?" the calico she-cat asked, poking her head into the den.

"Yes, what do you need?" Berrymoon meowed as she got up and stretched.
