Most of the nobles were intrigued by this rumor but it wasn't really something interesting to them, young master Cale wasn't even the main heir of his family so whether he died or not they didn't care. The only interesting point was that it could destabilize Count Deruth, they could maybe use it to recover his territory or his wealth.

The only nobles who were worried about this new rumor were the nobles of the Northeast, Cale's friends or rather his old friends. They had gathered the next day each having heard the rumor.

They were around a table with a cup of tea each in the Wheelsman family estate. None of them had touched their cup yet, simply looking at it as if it had offended them.

"Do you think this is true?" Amiru asked first, she was as worried as the other two.

"I tried to call Count Deruth but I couldn't talk to him." Eric tried all morning but nothing worked, the count was unreachable. He was ready to go knock on the door of the county himself but his friends called him to talk about it.

"From what I heard, a doctor had been called to the Henituse estate. And one to Puzzule city where they were on their way to the capital, a priest was then called urgently and they ended the journey with a teleportation mage to the Henituse estate of the capital. This rumor comes from knights and servants of Henituse, it can only be true." Amiru and Eric thought about Gilbert's words, they had to see Cale quickly and make sure he was okay. But do they even have the right to do that, after so long without speaking to him...

A little flashback.

Cage had been bothered by the god of death since they arrived in Puzzule City, bullshit about a savior and a human that even the gods couldn't predict. She finally gave in and went near the rock towers but there was nothing, no one she could think of as a savior. She ignored him, thinking it was the same bullshit as usual. The god of death then went silent for a whole day before becoming even more annoying than possible, he literally harassed her all day and night this lasted for 3 days before she finally gave up.

"What do you want from me at the end?! Are you trying to drive me crazy?!"

Taylor looked at her worriedly, he had seen her become more and more annoyed as the days went by.

Cage was forced to listen to her or he would never stop. This was the first time she had heard him sound so frantic and worried.

«I forgot to tell him something... I'm sure he's mad at me, he was already mad...» The god looked more like a child than a god, but she was intrigued, what kind of person could make a god like that? He seemed afraid of being scolded.

"What are you talking about?"

«I forgot to tell him something, and he got hurt because of me, again... I almost killed him already...»

Cage grimaced in confusion and frustration. "Maybe you should start telling me who you're talking about before you start talking nonsense!"

«A red-haired noble... Cale Henituse! You need to talk to him, he can help you and your friend and you can help him in return...» The god continued to speak but Cage had stopped listening after the person's name. It couldn't be true, even if a rumor of the young master being seriously ill had started to circulate.

«You really have to find him and warn him... I don't want to hurt him any more!»

"Let's say it's true, why don't you do it yourself?" Yeah that was a good question.

"He'll be indebted to you and can help your friend. I can't intervene in the human world as I wish unfortunately..." Now he seemed sad.

Cage could contradict him here, he seems to have no restrictions to come and bother her. She told Taylor everything, they both had to decide what to do now.

The god had stopped telling him coherent things and seemed more than crying and telling him to meet Cale Henituse.

After 2 days of Cale being unconscious, he woke up on the third day. He was still confused and in pain, his body still hadn't recovered the lost blood. Now that he was awake, he could begin the treatment recommended by the doctor, but even then, the process took time.

Ron and Basen were busy tending to Cale when a butler knocked on the bedroom door.

"Young Master Eric Wheelsman, Gilber Chestter, and Young Lady Amiru Ubarr are asking to see Young Mayor Cale."

"They've probably heard the rumor." He could hear Ron next to him.

"Of course, they're the kind to listen and believe the rumors." Basen was a little bitter about this, the Cale Henituse trash had started out the same way before these so-called friends began to pull away from him. He couldn't say anything himself, at the time he wasn't even there and when he arrived he'd been too scared to approach the young master. He was as pathetic as the others, but at least he had the excuse of age and the fact that he hadn't known Cale before this.

"*sigh* Let them in and lead them to the main living room, I'm coming."

The butler left to inform their guests.

"Take care of him and let me know if anything happens." Basen dragged his feet away, he had no desire to deal with them now.

Arriving in the living room, he could see the three people standing, Eric Wheelsman pacing back and forth.

"Hello, you can sit down." Basen motioned them to the sofas but even sitting down, young master Eric didn't seem to be able to stay still.

"What can I do for you?" It was clear why they had come, they all wore a worried expression.

"We came to see if this rumor was true, can we speak with young master Cale?" It was the young woman Amiru who asked.

Basen almost laughed but refrained and kept his neutral expression.

"I'm sorry but he is currently indisposed, if that's all you have to ask I'm quite busy right now."

He had gotten up to leave but Eric finally decided to speak.

"Is he okay?" » He asked her with a mixture of emotion reflected in his eyes, sadness, worry and a slight trace of shame.

Basen sat back down before finally speaking to them. "He's better but there was an incident during the trip, Cale got hurt and his life was in danger." He threw the information at them directly without tact.

"What?! What could have happened?" Eric had finally stood up and screamed in shock.

Basen could see Amiru, pulling the young master by his arm to calm him down and make him sit back down.

"We heard there was an incident before that, while he was still in the county." She glanced at Eric before calmly addressing young master Basen. Amiru could certainly sense the young master's anger towards them, although she wasn't sure why, and to quarrel would get them nowhere. Eric was calm and intelligent most of the time, except when under stress, he became impulsive.

"That's right, we found out that Cale has been sick for several years. He had a seizure at the estate and that's also why his condition was so critical during the trip but of course you don't know anything." The more he spoke the more they started to raise their voices.

"I'm sorry, but we don't know. What is he suffering from?" She was still calm even though she had become even more worried but she had to keep an eye on Eric, luckily Gilbert was calm.

Basen explained everything to them, his anger was still present and seemed to be getting stronger.

"Why hide something so important from us?!"

"Would you even have listened to him?! I know you were close at the time but that's not the case anymore." He mocked at the end of his sentence, it touched Eric's already tense nerves.

"Of course we would have! Don't think you know everything! Do you know that his behavior has changed since you and your mother entered the Henituse house?!"

"Are you blaming me?!" Basen couldn't believe his ears.

"Cale was a sweet and kind child before this, maybe that's the case. From what I know, it's not a disease that appears overnight, what did you do to him?!"
