It took another hour to wait for the meal to end, and another hour for all the guests to leave, only the nobles who wanted to speak with the prince remained. And finally an attendant came to get the nobles from the northeast, telling them that the crown prince was waiting for them in a private room of the palace.
On the way, they were able to meet the doctor who had taken care of Cale earlier, he agreed to check on the young master. He quickly concluded that Cale was exhausted and seriously needed rest lest he faint again, he also recommended that he take those pills again. Once he took them, Cale simply continued walking ignoring the worried looks on him as always.
Everyone ended up following him, but the worried looks ended up being dark looks, which he of course continued to ignore. They finally arrived in front of the prince. They sat down on the sofas in front of him, the living room was large and richly decorated, like the rest of the palace.
"I see that the young masters Henituse have decided to join us."
The two responded politely to the prince, who then focused on the other nobles to begin their conversations about their future tourism projects.
Cale had only partially listened to the conversation but even then, he only wanted to say one thing. This idea was useless with a war approaching, he was sure that the prince would agree with him . As royalty, he had to be aware of everything that was happening at the moment.
"... I think this project would allow our region to develop again." Amiru had been trying for a while to convince his interlocutor.
"But you need financial support, that's why you are here." Alberu kept his business smile but Cale could see something more, as if he was hesitating.
"This could be an investment for the kingdom as well not just for our region."
«This project is stupid.» He was a few seconds away from actually saying what he wanted, he was tired. Maybe the doctor was right, he should have rested.
"I'm sorry to interrupt you, but I don't think this is anything useful, at least not for now." Cale was as polite as he could.
"Cale-" Eric wanted to stop him from talking further but Alberu motioned for him to let him.
"What do you mean young master?" The prince didn't seem really upset by the young man's sudden speech and seemed rather intrigued.
"Nothing much, I just heard my father talking about the strange atmosphere of the other kingdoms around us. He seemed to be afraid of something." Cale said it casually.
Alberu looked at the behavior of the other nobles around him. Even if those words were true, they were very out of character for the trashy young master known throughout the Roan Kingdom.
"Young Master Basen, I can imagine that you heard the same thing from the Count?" The young man who was once looking at his brother, now looked away, why?
"I, uh..." He already wanted to apologize to his brother, He could see the crown prince looking at him in disbelief. This was the first time he spoke directly to the royal family and it was to lie and badly at that... Fortunately for him, the prince turned away from him, to look at Cale again.
He looked at him, daring him to continue lying. In any case, that was what his gaze said, he couldn't directly accuse a noble.
"My brother wasn't there that day, and I overheard the conversation by mistake."
"Are you kidding me?" The prince frowned, pretending to be angry. Cale could still see the prince's bright gaze, as if he had found something interesting.
Amiru wanted to intervene this time to stop Cale from upsetting the prince further, but neither of them paid him any attention.
"Then why this proposal?"
"I already told you."
"Hmm, you seem different than what we hear about you young master." He seemed to think before finally starting to smile again, Cale had a bad feeling now.
"Your proposal seems very interesting young lady but I have to agree with young master Cale. I think your coastline could be useful to us in another way."
Well now that the conversation was steered in the right direction, Cale could just listen. He only lasted another half hour before he almost fell asleep on the couch. He had already closed his eyes and was very sleepy but a soft voice that gave him chills woke him up.
"Are you alright young master?" He could see that the prince seemed genuinely worried.
He didn't even need to answer, Basen did it for him. "Not really your highness, he hasn't recovered from the incident yet and one of the palace doctors advised him to rest."
"You should have told me earlier, you can go. I will finish this conversation with Young master Eric, Gilbert and the young Lady who will do what is necessary to keep you informed of our progress on your project."
Cale wanted to say something about "your project" but as soon as he got up to leave the room, he suddenly felt very exhausted as if his body weighed several tons and before he could even speak or do anything he passed out.
