He woke up confused and in what seemed to be his room at the Henituse estate in the capital. He had to be taken home after he passed out. He sighed tiredly as he already thought about his brother's oath... And there was also his father's threat... He was clearly in a bad position.

He noticed that it seemed to be very early, the sun was barely filtering into his room, he could probably sleep a few more hours before having his ears filled. He fell back to sleep easily.

He woke up once more but this time to the sound of several voices.

"How is he?"

Cale was able to recognize his father's voice, it was very bad news for him, especially since he seemed worried.

"He's better but he should still rest for a day or two, if he had agreed to rest right away like I suggested his body wouldn't have been so overloaded."

He also recognized the voice as that of the palace physician. They seemed to be talking about the many times he refused to listen to what he was told to do...

"*sigh* It's not really surprising... And Cale I know you're awake."

The young master flinched when he heard his name suddenly. Of course, people in the room noticed him. He hesitantly opened his eyes only to flinch again under the gaze of his father and the physician.

"So what do you have to say for yourself?" His father seemed angry now but he could still see the worry in those eyes.

"Uh, was it important?" Even to him the answer seemed wrong, he didn't really know what to say.

"Is that all of them?" His father looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

He simply kept his mouth shut and looked away.

"I believe Basen had already warned you about what would happen if something happened to you in the capital again." Cale's lack of response was confirmation to him, so he continued. "You will return to Henituse County tonight, and you can rest."

"Could I then return to the capital?"The ceremony in the square was in 3 days, he might have time to come back. If he was just going to rest in the meantime, he didn't really mind.

"Cale do you understand I'm trying to punish you?"

The young master would have laughed if his father didn't look serious. "Oh, I'm almost 3... 18."

The earl noted his son's mistake about his own age but put it down to him maybe still being tired. "No matter, you're still my son, and no, you can't come back here."

He didn't answer, if he insisted too much he'd look suspicious and his father would definitely not allow it. He had to find a way to get to the square when the time came. Now that he thought about it...

"Where are the others?"

"In their rooms, rest now. They can come later." Deruth left, unsure if Cale had really understood.

As soon was the count left, a small dragon appeared on the bed next to him as well as two small kittens.

"You were hurt. We should have come with you."

He sighed at the children, who seemed to be angry as well.

"I'm fine now and the problem has been solved." Cale easily brushed off their worries.

"I'll go with you next time, human. I won't let you go alone again." He was now confused in front of the worried dragon. The child had been afraid to approach him just a few days ago. And now he seemed as worried about him as the two kittens.

"Of course." He stroked the heads of the two cats, before hesitating with the dragon.

The little dragon who saw the happiness of these brothers, also lowered his head to receive attention.

The young man could see the dragon wagging its tail with joy in the same way as a cat. A smile had appeared on his face without him noticing.

This happy little world ended up falling asleep. The kittens were nestled against Cale's body while the dragon was simply next to him without touching him.

It was Ron who had discovered everyone asleep. He would have let them sleep if the doctor had not insisted that the young master eat each of his meals and on time to help regain strength.

After half an hour consisting of waking up a grumpy young man and dressing him. Cale was now ready to eat his meal, his brother had even joined him while his butler was preparing the table in the room so he wouldn't have to move any more.

The meal was very quiet before Cale asked Basen something.

"Why did you warn him?" His tone wasn't accusatory. It was really a question but his brother didn't hear it that way.

"It wasn't me, even if I would have done it if no one had done it."

"Have you thought about the terrorist attack??! What if something goes wrong!" Cale started to raise his voice, really he already had a solution to come anyway but what if he couldn't do it and something happens. People died because of him!

"You planned everything right? And even if something happened, what can you do!"

"It's my... no it was my..." He didn't really know why but he had a hard time keeping his secret since he woke up this morning. Seriously, it's already the second time he almost betrayed himself.

"I'll try to talk to him so he lets me come with you. I'll never forgive myself if something happens." The last part had been said a little weaker but Basen still heard it.

There was a tense silence after that, which was broken by Basen asking something else to try to lighten the mood. Although he couldn't help but utter the last word a little more forcefully than necessary. "Aren't you asking me what happened last night after you left?"

Obviously, Cale either didn't notice or didn't care. He wasn't sure.

"Not really, I'm not interested. And I trust you completely to deal with the Crown Prince." He sounded completely indifferent as he said it. And Basen was certain his brother was oblivious to the scare he'd given his friends. He'd barely managed to get them to continue the meeting with the prince. The three nobles would have liked to run with him and Cale to the estate. And right after the exchange ended, Eric had called him to ask about Cale. Fortunately, the young master seemed relieved and calmer once he'd explained he was feeling better.

He sighed inwardly as he watched his brother brush off their conversation to simply continue eating. They finally part. Basen returned to his room while Cale asked him if he could call their father.
