They gazed at his peaceful, sleeping face for a few more seconds, noting the visible traces of dried tears on his pale cheeks.

"Is he okay?" A child's voice rang out again, breaking them out of their thoughts. Deruth tensed, he had almost forgotten the incident. He hoped the child had calmed down a little. He looked at his son worriedly; he didn't know how the little one would react to his presence. It was almost a miracle the child hadn't appeared sooner.

"He'll be fine, don't worry." Contrary to what the count thought, Basen reacted calmly. He looked at him in confusion, and his son looked back.

Sighing, he explained to his father. "It's a long story, but he saved a baby dragon-"

"A what?!" Deruth had many questions, and most of all, he felt his whole body tremble with fear. The child could have killed him sooner.

The young master was completely confused by his father's panic. The child was rather gentle and shy.

As if to answer his question, the young dragon removed his invisibility magic to be seen on the bed, pressed against Rok Soo.He gave the count a knowing look as he replied. "He's the one who hurt the human!"

Basen could see his father recoiling in fear at the dragon's murderous intent. The young man thought quickly and concluded that there had been a misunderstanding here. He had to resolve the problem quickly before it caused an other incident.

He asked the child to explain what he had seen to make him think that way, while Deruth also defended himself. After figuring out the problem, Basen had to explain it to the dragon. Fortunately, the child was intelligent, but he didn't fully understand emotions, especially human emotions. He wasn't surprised, content with his past. Once everyone had calmed down, the tension in the room had subsided and become peaceful again. Rok Soo, after all, needed some quiet to recover.

---

He remained unconscious for another week. His body was clearly overworked, but that was hardly surprising. They let him recover before they could speak to him, even though he seemed constantly on guard in their presence during the short moments he remained awake.

So this left them with the task of managing the mess themselves :

On the first day, the young master heard the report of the attack on the square. Of course, his father was there too. He didn't want to be left out this time. He also quickly realized that Basen had also played a part in all these dangerous things and was certainly not very happy about it. He would certainly need to speak with his two young men later.

Ron told them that everything had gone according to Cale's plans before the other two bombs exploded, followed by the appearance of the shield they knew to be Cale's. The young dragon relayed the message of Cale's presence to everyone. He also reported that they had followed the mad mage to the location indicated, but they only managed to injure him, not kill him. Choi-han and Ron seemed particularly murderous in the face of this. Of course, the bastard had hurt their family. Ron and Beacrox then stayed at Cale's bedside while the rest of the group, with Lock, Rosalyn, and Choi-han, left, as the mage needed help with an urgent matter.

The two also had to deal with Violan, who had called earlier this week after not hearing anything from Cale since his incident at the palace. She was worried. Basen and Deruth quickly explained to her that Cale needed more rest and that they would then return together. Deruth felt bad about having to lie to his wife, but he couldn't tell her the truth without having to answer more questions. He left it up to Rok Soo to decide who knew his secret.

Of course, the same cycle repeated itself, but this time with the northeastern nobles. They told them the same things as Violan, and told them they could come see Cale once he felt better.
