When they came back through the window, they came across Ron who was watching them. Cale immediately moved away from Choi Han who was still supporting him, now that his heart had calmed down the pain had almost disappeared. The swordsman confirmed that he could stand without his help before looking at the butler.
"Where have you been?" Ron eyed them suspiciously, and Cale was sure he'd recognized the outfits they were wearing it certainly wasn't going to help their case.
"That doesn't concern you!" Of course Choi Han was on the defensive with the butler.
Cale had to stop them before they started fighting, especially with children present.
"Choi Han *sigh*, can we change and then we'll talk?" His clothes were still covered in blood, it was very unpleasant.
Ron agreed and helped him change while Choi Han went back to his room. The atmosphere between Cale and his butler was quite tense, Cale was sure he was angry with him but wasn't sure why.
Now clean and in comfortable clothes, they could talk. The three were around a table in Cale's room while the children were on the bed sleeping, it was quite late.
Cale ended up explaining everything to Ron, and the reason for his anger finally became clear and well except for him.
"Young master, that was reckless and dangerous. Please warn me next time, I could at least help you. Nothing else happened during our outing, right?" Ron looked worried.
Choi han was going to tell him about the moment when Cale seemed to be suffering but the young master signaled him to be quiet.
"Young master?" Of course Ron noticed.
"No everything went well and it's getting late." He pretended to yawn before heading to his bed.
The two went out but Ron glared at Choi Han, who ignored him.
Later that day, Ron had come to tell him that some knights had come to ask them if they had had any problems during the night. Ron told them that no, there had been nothing and that no one had seen anything either. The reason was simple everyone was asleep, the knights having no proof could not question any more of the young masters and left.
The rest of the day passed peacefully, and the next day, they left for the next destination Puzzle City, Cale planned to retrieve the next ancient power, the vitality of the heart. He hoped that it would help stabilize his condition as it was a regenerative power. Unfortunately, everything did not go as planned... again.
----
He knew where the heart's vitality was thanks to the book but he still had to find a way to go alone, that was the hardest part of his plan. He also had to find a way to approach without being seen by Taylor and Cage even if the power turned out to be useless in the end for him, he couldn't take away his last hope without giving him a new one. He had to think and find solutions to all these problems. After a few hours of driving, they stopped for lunch and to spend the night. Cale heard Hans talking with Basen about the city of Puzzle City, he had told them about the stone towers and the stories related to it. Obviously, Basen and the kittens' eyes lit up at the word "wish". Cale smiled at that, they looked like children their age like that.
"Well, maybe we could take a look." Cale suggested, they immediately accepted. At the same time it would allow him to get closer to his goal.
The whole camp then fell asleep.
The next morning.
"Young master."
"...What is this?" Cale looked at the dead deer that was at the edge of their campsite. Hans reported to Cale, who continued to stare at the deer.
