The episode begins with Caleb helping Julia and Damien off the boat, his usual calm demeanor hiding the unease settling in his gut. The rest of the group has already gathered, waiting as the wind carries the familiar salty scent of the ocean.
They begin walking along the beach, sticking close together. Axel stays at the back, dragging her foot through the sand to create a trail, ensuring they wouldn't lose their way back to the boat. It's a tense four-minute walk, the silence heavy with anticipation. No one says much, just the sound of footsteps and the occasional murmur as they keep an eye out for any sign of danger.
Suddenly, Wayne, who was a few steps ahead of the group, stops in his tracks. His voice breaks the uneasy quiet. "What the hell, man??"
Bowie jogs over, his concern turning to disgust. "What's wrong, Wa--oh, eww," he gags, covering his nose.
Everyone else catches up, only to be met with the grisly sight of a body sprawled out on the sand. The man looks like he's been dead for quite some time, his decaying figure telling a grim story of what might've happened. His clothes are ripped, and his skin is pale, barely clinging to his bones. Next to the body, scrawled in large, messy letters in the sand, is the word 'BEWARE.'
Damien shudders, the chill in the air seeming to bite a little harder. "Okay, what the fuck..." he mutters.
Axel eyes the body suspiciously. "You think this was the killer?" she asks, scanning the area for any signs of movement.
Caleb tilts his head, thinking. "Hmm, or maybe it's just some random guy who visited the island illegally," he says, his voice calm despite the unsettling sight.
Damien shoots him a look, clearly annoyed. "You mean like how we're doing right now?"
Julia steps foward, her eyes narrowing as she stares at the dead man and the ominous message. "If that is the case, you think Lauren killed him?" she asks, a hint of doubt creeping into her voice.
Wayne, trying not to look directly at the body, adds, "Or... MK. You know, maybe she's the one who did it."
Julia snaps her head towards him, her voice sharp and defensive. "No... she wouldn't do that," she says firmly, almost trying to convince herself as much as the group.
Wayne looks uncomfortable, avoiding eye contact. "Well, she took Raj."
Caleb, stepping up to Julia's side, shakes his head. "No, Julia's right. MK would never." He says it with conviction, but the tension in his voice betrays him.
Chef, arms crossed, sighs. "You can't say that for certain, Caleb. Last time we saw her, it looked like Scary Girl had gotten to her head."
The group falls into an uneasy silence. The beach stretches out endlessly before them, but the forest looms just ahead, dark and foreboding. The memories of what happened there still haunt them.
Axel breaks the silence, her voice steady but filled with determination. "We should keep going," she says, her eyes fixed on the forest.
Bowie glances at the trees, then back at the body. He sighs deeply, resigned to what they had to do. "...Yep," he mutters, his voice heavy with dread.
