The next episode begins with Wayne and Bowie standing side by side at the back of the group, barely able to contain their laughter. Wayne stifles his chuckles while Bowie, struggling even harder, manages to whisper, “Wayne! It’s not funny!” But he’s on the verge of bursting out laughing.
Damien, more confused than ever, walks to the front of the group and glares at Caleb, who just reappeared in front of them. “What?! You were back here the whole time?” Damien exclaims, his frustration clear.
Caleb shrugs, completely unbothered by the concern his disappearance caused. “Uhh, yeah? I just got lost on my way to the confessional.” He scratches the back of his neck as if it’s no big deal.
Chef sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose, clearly relieved but also annoyed. Axel, seeing Chef’s frustration, gently places a hand on his shoulder. “He’s alright, Chef. Let’s just be grateful we didn’t lose anyone… yet,” she mutters, her voice low as she glances around the woods.
The mood shifts. Now that Caleb is back, the tension eases, but the group’s awareness of the dangers still lingers.
Bowie, unable to hold it in anymore, bursts out laughing. “I can’t believe we were freaking out over that!” Wayne joins in, their laughter contagious, but the rest of the group is less amused.
Julia rolls her eyes, arms crossed. “Seriously, Caleb? You made us worry, and you were just lost?!” Her tone has a mix of irritation and relief. Despite everything, she’s glad they didn’t lose anyone.
Caleb shrugs again, sheepish. “Yeah… sorry ‘bout that.”
The group settles into an awkward silence for a moment, the weirdness of the situation finally sinking in. Then Chef clears his throat and motions to the door. “Alright, let’s focus. We still have a job to do. We’re not leaving this island without answers.”
They all nod in agreement, the humor from moments ago fading as reality sets back in.
As they enter the cabin again, they immediately scan the area for anything suspicious. This time, there’s nothing out of the ordinary, just the worn-out bunks and dusty floor they’ve come to know. Chef instructs everyone to sit down for a minute, needing a chance to regroup and come up with a plan.
As they settle in, Axel speaks up. “So, MK’s alive… we know that much. And now Caleb’s back. What’s our next move?”
Bowie, now more serious, says, “We keep looking. MK’s out there, and we’re not leaving without her.” he says, glancing toward Julia.
Julia, her voice quiet but firm, nods. “We can’t leave her behind.”
Chef stands by the door, staring out into the darkening forest. “Alright, we rest for a bit, and then we move again. The sooner we find MK, the sooner we can all get off this damn island.” Chef says this, although—he knows it's simpler but into words than done as actions. He recognizes the fact MK is most likely to far gone to save, yet he wanted to reassure the group—well, Julia.
As they prepare to sit back and gather their thoughts, the floor beneath them creaks. Axel’s eyes narrow, and she stands, sensing something off. “Did anyone else hear that?”
The group goes quiet, their senses on high alert. They exchange nervous glances, and suddenly, the sound of footsteps outside echoes through the cabin walls.
Julia stiffens. “Someone’s out there.” She whispers, her heart racing.
Chef reaches for his knife, motioning for everyone to stay quiet as they huddle together, waiting for whatever—or whoever—is outside to make their move.
The group frozen in place, unsure whether to flee or fight. The island’s dangers are far from over... This never gets easier, does it?
