Episode 2: Deep Thoughts

The group begins walking into the forest, wary of every little sound. It’s been a year since the events on the island, and each step pulls them deeper into their memories. Everyone here is reliving their trauma. The forest, once just a backdrop for their nightmare, now feels alive with the weight of what happened.

Damien gulps. Nothing’s happened so far, but everyone’s hearts are pounding as if danger is only a step away. Wayne walks with his eyes shut tight, too scared to face the forest, terrified of what might lay ahead. His feet shuffle along, but it’s clear he's not coping well. Bowie walks beside him, keeping his eyes forward, but even he can’t hide his fear.

Julia, on the other hand, is lost in her thoughts, her mind racing. What if MK swoops down and grabs her, just like she had done to Raj a year earlier? What if there are no survivors after all? What if coming back to this island was a mistake? Have they returned for no real reason? Will they die out here?

Her deep, spiraling thoughts are abruptly interrupted when she bumps into Chef, who has suddenly stopped walking. The group halts, startled.

"Why did we stop?" Caleb asks nervously, glancing around at the others.

Chef doesn’t answer immediately. His eyes are fixed on something ahead, his body tense. Everyone looks in the direction Chef is staring, but the forest is still, nothing but dense trees and overgrown bushes. Yet, something feels... wrong.

"What’s going on?" Julia asks, her voice breaking the tense silence.

Chef finally speaks, his voice low and serious. "I heard something."

The group tenses, exchanging nervous glances. The silence of the forest feels oppressive, like it’s hiding something just out of view.

"Something... like an animal?" Damien asks, his voice barely a whisper, as if afraid to speak too loudly.

Chef slowly shakes his head. "No. Footsteps."
